I think that there should be a common room that is more accessible for travellers to meet up or mingle around as well as more resources such as maps and guide books could be available to help plan our trips around the city. There should be more information on various places to visit around.

It was a bright and colorful place. The people were friendly and helped you with planning out your visit. Breakfast was small but free and the lounges were nice spaces to gather.

Great hostel. No lockers in the rooms, but they're huge. The place is really clean, well located and the girl on reception was really nice and helpful.

We stayed one week at "A Casa di Amici" and really enjoyed it. There is a good athmosphere in the hostel, the rooms are clean and bright and the staff is really nice. The only thing that one could complain about is that there is only one bathroom for each gender, so you sometimes have to wait, but as you mostly spend your holidays at hostels, you should have the time and patience to wait some minutes.

On my last day, they advanced me money when my credit card wouldn't work, and I had arranged for another day when the banks were open. When I finally was able to use the card later in the day and left, they didn't charge me for that extra day.

Very friendly and helpful staff, nicely decorated and equipped apartments, comfortable beds. There is a dog that wanders around, which is alright except for the fact that it jumps on furniture and people. Internet connection is good in the main building, but is not available in other apartments. Everything was very clean. Overall, great experience: I would definitely go back.

Good place, excellent location. Fun people. Good internet connection. I just wish they would make it clear that half of the rooms are on a different building which has no kitchen/internet/etc.

Owner Comment (Show)
hi, thanks for your review. I want underline that is write ready on the website that we manage 2 flats away 20 metres and all the facilities are in the main place. Anyway you have the keys of both the flats and is really easy use the service because you have keys ;)

This is the best hostel I have ever stayed at in terms of value for money and character. The beds are just like at home, clean and warm. The free breakfast is outstanding (for being free) and the kitchen facilities make preparing dinner easy. Some small complaints - the water in the showers never stays warm for longer than 2 minutes. In winter the rooms are pretty cold. The WiFi is fast but the PC in reception very slow. Also, there is a dog; this can be a + or - depending on if you like dogs.

Nice hostel, we were placed in the annex down the road, was nice enough except we had to walk back to the main hostel in the rain to use the internet

I've got mixed feelings about this place. The room we had (one of the doubles) was really loud from the street noise echoing around the streets, and the automatic hall lights switching off after 30 seconds was annoying! The breakfast is a basic sugary affair (white bread, jams and corn flakes etc), but it's something to eat at least. I found the owner to be quite 'wintery' (maybe because it was winter), and there was a constant struggle to stop her dog from eating the bread...

A Casa di Amici is a great hostel. Clean, comfortable, one of the better breakfast offerings I've experienced, and great facilities (like big bathrooms and bedrooms). Claudia and the others around the hostel are very nice and if asked for advice or asked to explain anything about the city and its people, they are helpful and provide great info. I would definitely stay there again and recommend it to everyone. A very positive experience for me!
