Loved the idea of the 'pod' beds in the dorm room, was good to be able to have the privacy but still have the social environment. We went in the winter and so the temperature of the hostel was pretty cold (though it was -25oC outside). Facilities were basic but clean, staff not very friendly but still ok.

The hostel is located well, a few minutes from the station, but it is not noisy around. There was some trouble with hot water in the shower, and it could be warmer in the room itself. Staff is quite friendly, but you should pay with cash, no cards are accepted.

Well, we didnt expect much for the money we paid, but at least minimum heating could be on during the winter season. As well as hot water in the shower. Also, in confirmation letter we are supposed to have breakfast included, however it was of additional cost. All in all, i better pay more next time, but for sure will not stay here again

The rooms are nice and neat, location is great but they really have to do something with their staff or the attitude! First of all, they couldn't find our reservation through hotelworld.com, so we had to show them the confirmation letter received. Upon seeing it the old lady started staring at us like we're ripping them off, but anyway that's not a customer's fault that they do not think it necessary to update their prices on the web.. anyway, be prepared! :)

The overall rating for what concern my stay at A Hostel is not really satisfying, especially for the cold behavior of the staff. When asking for some cloth washing I was told three different excuses not to provide me the service. At the end I was able to get it, but seemed like I was disturbing. As I stayed 8 days I was expecting at least one linen/pillow change, it did not happened. It is also really dark in terms of brightness: they should turn on some more lights.

Although this hostel was in a good location for getting to the bus station we found it very unwelcoming and useless for anything other than a one night stopover. Despite receiving a lovely email assuring us that we were welcome in the hostel (and which site - there are 3) the reception staff didn't recognise our booking as it wasn't written in her diary. She then put us in a bigger dorm than the one we had booked. toilets = broken. breakfast = not on same site as beds. Beds = comfy but smelly

The hostel was great in the sense that it was super well located, clean, and the staff was great and helpful. I stayed at their other location, and it is definitely not a party hostel or a place to easily meet fellow travellers. However, the location was extremely convenient for a girl arriving alone at 1 am (it was just a few steps away from the Kaunas airport shuttle), and great to discover Vilnius. It was very clean, and the decor was quite nice.

Great location but has 2 sites under the same name - annoying when they make you move! Clean and beds are big and very comfy. The staff are the biggest let down here. At one point we were served by a woman who got very angry with us and accused us of not having a reservation and forced me to go online and show her my booking. She kept shouting 'You pay NOW!' at me, trying to make me pay in full, despite paying 10% through Hostelworld. Ok experience but staff need improvement!!

The stay was nice, The place looks a little bit poor but inside its nice. Some personal is very nice and some dont speak too much english but they do they best. The location is very close to the center. It's a very quiet hostel so it's good if you want to rest. I would recommend it.

The common areas of the Sodu 17 branch were cramped, dark, and uninviting. No internet (had to schlep down the street to the Sodu 8 branch). No coffee. Weird cubbyhole beds were awkward to get into. Rude workmen just marched into the dorms without announcement or evident concern. Most of the staff have little command of English. Great location near the train/bus station and not bad price but, I'd pay and walk a bit more next time, if necessary.

The receptionist was a plus middle age woman and she was inside an office and talked to us through a small glass screen. No organised tours, pub crawls, activities. Bedroom doors left open because they only have one key for them. Drunk locals were shouting and singing outside our ground-floor window at 1 am. The Vilnius tourist information lady said she has only heard bad things about this hostel. Good location however and not bad if you don't want to meet people and are a heavy sleeper.

They don't accept cards, cash only (lit or euro). There were no towels in the room, we should ask about this. And there was a lot of noise from the inner yard at night.

At first I was astonished by how small the room was, but in the end it was a fun experience, "japanese style room". Clean room, clean bathrooms, WiFi downstairs, access to a kitchen, all in all a good, basic accoomodation, though I didn't like having to pay (around 2 euros I think) to store my luggage on the departure day.

The hostel was really poor. No service at all. The room smelled awful even when we left the window open all the time. I think the walls of the room were all old and wet and what smelled was mould - cannot be healthy!! The bedsheets had blotches, no towels, no luggage room, no friendly service... There were two bathrooms on the floor next to each other and the backwall was open, so that you can hear everything the person in the other bathroom does, not very comfortable.

It's my 2nd stay here, I choose it because it's close to the train/bus stations (no need to carry heavy luggage for a long time) and to the city centre (explore everything on foot). I've stayed in the cheapest room for 16 people but it was never full and people behaved quietly in the night. NB: A Hostel has several buildings close to one another, but you'd better check in advance which one you need. The kitchen at Sodu St., 8 has no stove, only a microwave, free towels are available on request.
