Raul, one of the owners, was really helpful. He always made sure that we make the most of our stay. I recommend this place.

Superb hostel. Stayed in private room, shared bathroom - it was great. Owners were fantastic, friendly without being overbearing. Location isn't the best in town, but everything else makes up for it. Would definitely stay again.

It was such a treat to arrive at A Place to Stay! The owner Raoul insists that the people who stay there provide it with its fantastic, open atmosphere but he continually strives to provide you with any information, bookings or other help you might need and immediately integrates you into the place. Such a relaxing experience and somewhere I hope to return to as soon as I can.

Loved the atmosphere, very friendly and helpful staff - organising day trips, getting up very early to help us with bus connections etc. Great breakfast included e.g. Omelette with bread roll, avocado and tomato, coffee. Nice relaxed place, not noisy at night but lots of fun and easy to meet people. One downside was the very hard uncomfortable beds and limited (and not very clean) bathroom facilities, but overall really enjoyed our stay - great value for money and would recommend. Thanks Raul!

Place to stay is the best Hostel I've stayed on this trip. First off we were greeted as if we were family. Raul and Kerry are warm and welcoming. The first time we had a private room and shared bathroom. (No private baths here) which was great. When I came back alone I opted for dorm room which just got new mattresses! The kitchen makes to shop at the Mercado right next door and cook healthy local food for next to nothing. The vibe here is Special.. I will be back

This is an amazing chilled out hostel. The owner, Raul goes above and beyond to make sure you enjoy your stay. They are great and helping organise trips and can get the cheapest prices for them. It's a short walk to the main square but very close to the markets and local restaurants. Everything was lovely and clean. Breakfast was great.

The staff were very laid back and not that caring. Acted more like other travellers than staff. Internet doesn't work well in the rooms. There is a nice outdoor area where people congregate. The beds were old and sagging in the middle. The whole place is a bit run down and not really cared for and the bathrooms are almost always dirty which is easily fixed if you clean more than once a day. The bin of used toilet paper definitely needs emptying more than once a day as the smell is really bad.

I didn't get a good feeling of environment or atmosphere in this place... it wasn't very clean in the bathrooms, maybe because there are three bathrooms for everyone. Plus the mattress was rock hard and lumpy... nice views of the city though.

Perfect stay, we came back and were welcomed back like friends, could have stayed for weeks if not for time pressures. Best part of our stay in Antigua, staff and other travellers all friendly with great relaxed atmosphere. Easy to arrange tours and onward travel without going to agencies

Raúl and Fernando are wonderful guys, they go out of their way to help you, offer advice and make you feel welcome. The atmosphere is perfect, a really nice chilled place with a good common area where everyone talks to each other and helps one another. Breakfast is great and changes each day and there is a kitchen for those who want to cook. Next to the market and close to everything, can't recommend this place enough. They were even nice enough to upgrade us a private room as we are a couple.

I loved this hostel. The staff are very nice people and make you feel very at home. They also have cats and a bunny and turtle to keep lonely travelers company. Such a good deal and the free breakfast is great. They even upgraded us to a private room for the same price as a dorm.
