Good atmosphere, clean enough... we were there just to spend the night, but would probably stay there again

Poor security could be solved by lockers. Kitchen missing, it is not possible to clean apple at the morning, when both bathrooms are in use. How to cut bread and serve it just with plastic forks and plates? Btw, it is not environment friendly to waste with plastic plates.

I had a lot of fun in this place, the pub crawls are free and excellent and the location is prime. Its a small hostel though, with only two full bathrooms for twenty people so long lines in the morning. The lockout 10 am -2pm was also anoying. I didn't have any problems but there are no lockers or even locks on the dorm door, just one on the front door. Otherwise the management was great and the people I meet there too.

you come in to check in but they don't even have a front desk, they use their computer and a tiny desk in the middle of the living room to work. the bedrooms don't lock and there are no lockers. the place in general is not very clean and they start playing loud music at 9am until 12pm. for 2 nights it worked for us but i wouldn't recommend staying longer.

It's definitely like crashing at your college buddy's place for the weekend after you've both graduated. There's a really chill atmosphere, and good people all around. Great location, and the staff is really nice and helpful. Fun place to stay and hang out for a couple days.

A stunning building in the Cannaregio with canal views. Much wonderful lounge. No kitchen facilities. Croissant for breakfast. Two toilets for all. In the evening there listening to rap and watch movies about zombies.

The hostel is for the grungier kind of traveler. The location was simple enough to find, but reminded me more of a unemployed friend's bachelor pad than a hostel. The mixed dorm I stayed in was bare bones; the comforter lacked a cover and had someone else's hair stuck to it. Granted I only stayed for one night on a Saturday, my room was adjacent to the common space where they blasted rock music until midnight. If you want to drink, this is the place for you. If not, I suggest elsewhere.

It has a very casual way about it and is very much a youth hostel. The 3 male staff that I met were all genuinely friendly. The rooms are all connected to the common room which made it very sociable, though I can imagine this might mean some nights can be fairly noisy. There is only 2 bathrooms so in the morning there was a queue to use them. Could also do with some bath mats on the floor as the floors got pretty wet.

Good location with friendly staff. Dorms are pretty basic and 2 bathrooms are shared between the multiple rooms. For what you get it is expensive but that is true for everything in Venice. I would reccomend a friend stay here. It would be nice if lockers were available

further away from the main areas than I thought. Just be ready for lots of walking. Hostel is not clean at times, and uncomfortable.

My stay at Venice Fish was wonderful! I was only supposed to stay there one night, but as it was the best hostel i was having so far after 5 weeks of traveling, I decided to underterminately extend my stay here! The staff was great! The social life between the guests is also great! You could not book a better hostel for a stay in Venise!

Venice Fish is great for a short backpacker-style stay – very conveniently located, close to the station and main attractions, next to a small canal and a church piazza. There's a lovely big living room with windows facing the street, yet it was very quiet at night. Dorms are clean, the staff was helpful and overall I'm very happy with my stay there.

Our stay at A Venice Fish was certainly the best hostel experience we have ever had. The staff was very laid back and relaxed, not to mention hilarious. The manager, Chris, is knowlegeable and really cares about making sure you have a good time. We hung out with him, played kings, and he showed us the local bars. If you're looking to have a good time once the sites of Venice close down in the evening, A Venice Fish is a great place to start!

I've been traveling throughout Europe for a month now, I've stayed in quite a few hostels. This place would have been great if it wasn't for the guy running the hostel. He was rude, unhelpful and generally offensive. The location was great, but the party went on in the hostel until past midnight, and it was pretty loud since all of the hostel dorms are right next to the common area. Breakfast wasn't good, they only had tea and no coffee, pre-wrapped croissants. Wouldn't stay again.

I had one of my best hostel experiences at A Venice Fish! The hostel itself has everything you need, as one might expect, but what separates this hostel from others is its unique location, atmosphere and character. If you are going to Venice, you MUST stay here to get the most out of your time there!
