If you are young and looking for a good place to meet people and have fun, this hostel is perfect. I did not actually sleep here. The room they were going to put me in had a leak, so I was transferred to another hostel, which I believe is owned by the same person. I did spend a lot of time hanging out here, however, and found the atmosphere extremely fun and hospitable. I would recommend this hostel to anyone my age.

nice place. the guys that work there are really nice & helpful. they took us out at night & also gave us free sangria. small hostel, so it made it really easy to meet people. weird that you have to pay for the sheets, but it was ok. overall nice place -- good value considering how everything else is super expensive in venice.

A very cool and fun hostel. As far as staff going out of their way to make sure everyone staying there has fun, this has to the best I’ve been too (that’s you Dan, Angus and Albert)! If you want to get that oldschool hostel experience and want a change from the new age ‘5story hotel like’ hostels then definitely go here – you will love it. (Ps. Did I mention free sangria at 8:30pm). See you guys again 4sure!

Didn\'t even give me a 24 hour notice that they were moving me to another hostel. In the email, they didn\'t include the name of the hostel I was being moved to, or an address, or a phone number. The email said, they CAN transport me from A Venice Fish to the new hostel, but never said it was MANDATORY. So basically, I was walking around Venice for 3 hours trying to find it, trying to find internet, and when I got a hold of a staff member, they weren\'t even compassionate or sorry for the mix up!

My stay was nice but I wouldn't say that it is a hostel, only 2 toilets and 2 showers for everyone. Is very difficult to find the hostel because there is no plate with the name outside. The reception opens at 9, so if you arrive earlier than 9 you must stay outside. Around11am you must leave the hostel because they clean it at this time. My room was very noisy at night, when people were drinking in the common room.

This was the best place I have stayed at during my trip. The price is great, the place is clean, fun and friendly. Beds are really comfortable, lot's of fun people, staff is amazing and I especially loved the pasta night:) The location is very convenient, 1 stop from the train station and 5 minute walk to coliseum.

The hostel was alright, pretty much a party hostel. Free Sangria most nights and they taste pretty good! I met some really great people there! Wifi was free and good. The location was good as well, just 5-10min away from S. Lucia station. Only bad thing was that the floor wasn't really clean and there were no lockers. Other than that, most were ok.

The staff really made this place - free sangria and drinking games every night and then out into Venice if you fancy it. Really laid back, casual approach to everything. Maybe not a good choice if you don't want to be up late and worry about room security.

The best part about this hostel is the nightly sangria happy hour, plus the location is pretty kickass, with gondolas floating under the balcony. Definitely a fun place to stay in Venice.

Awesome hostel, staff was beyond excellent. Facilities were a little lacking (i.e. kitchen for guests), but the hostel environment more than made up for it. Would definitely recommend!!

There need some overnight regulation. Until 3:00am, some people drink and talk loudly in the living room where is just in front of bedroom.

This hostel was completely overpriced for what you received. You have to pay extra for sheets, the beds are tiny and very unstable. There is always music going late through the night. There are free sangria nights, which is nice. However you are supposed to leave the hostel between 10am and 2pm every day, which was very unpleasant when we had been out partying with the hostel staff until 2am. Also you have to pay to store your luggage for the day.

Dan and Kate are very good hosts! They really make our stay in Fish great!. Good place to meet new people and fun place to be. Just don't come here if you enjoy your peace and quiet

While the rooms were comfy and clean, the immaturity of (most of) the hostel workers took a large toll on our Venice experience- especially the main manager, who proved to be both pompous and self entitled versus giving the paying customers an experience. He went so far as to teach other clients to swear at locals, which led to a fight, as well as took us to a very Americanized bar to play beer pong versus showing us a local nightlife- very embarrassing to be with them. Avoid this one.

Loved my stay in Venice!! The staff were very friendly, helpful and fun :) The bathrooms were clean and the beds were really comfy. The best part was the Sangria parties which helped the guests get to know each other and the staff. Thanks Dan and Angus!! - Ann (from Newfoundland, Canada)

This was a great hostel, the staff are friendly and outgoing and it is the nightlife in the area. I would highly recommend it if you are travelling alone and looking to have fun.
