Essentially a good location & a secure access for this basic "no frills" hotel - The comment refers to the private room building (Hostal Palermo) and not to the shared room building (2 separate units within walking distance from each other).

Really pleased with the hostel. Staff were very friendly and helpful- kept our luggage for us on our last day until our train left in the evening and helped us with sightseeing. Location is amazing, literally just off Ramblas. Free internet and breakfast. It's basic but very cheap. Would definitely stay there again!

It's a solid hostel, cheap and clean and in a great location. Your 15 minutes away from everything, either by walking or metro.

great location close to las ramblas, it could be quite noisy in the mornings with people on the street though as a pedestrianised street you could hear no traffic. the staff were not overly friendly there.there are probably hostels just as central that are more pleasant to stay in

Way too expensive for what I got. I requested a single room and at first was given a smokey box. I was about to leave and cut my losses, but, the staff was lovely and moved me into a bigger room that did not smell like smoke. It was loud, but comfortable. I still feel a bit ripped off for the amount of money I had to pay. The location was great, but, I would not stay here again.   Read Owner Comments

There were no powerpoints in the dorm room to charge camera batteries or phones, leaving you to leave your belongings in the hall, which was a bit difficult.
