The bathroom in my room was clean but the room was dirty. The bed was old, the sheets were old, pillows were like bags of cotton. I\'ve been to a couple of big hostels throughout Europe and that was one of worst.

This was an ok hostel. The rooms were clean and comfortable enough. The staff weren't particularly friendly, but also weren't rude. This hostel does cater to large groups, so there were constantly loads of loud, drunk people running through the halls. Only other down side was no free internet.

Most awful hostel experience I've imagined. Staff are extremely slow and quite incompetent. Check-in was 40 min.The bathroom was covered in dirt and grime, as were the towels on the floor. On requesting a new room (which we received slowly and with no apology), we discovered the thin mattresses disgustingly stained with who knows what, and chewing gum too. The pillows were sacks of cotton balls and the comforters were paper thin. We asked for our money back and left (still slow and no apology).

2 stops to hauptbahnof (main railway station). if you want you can walk to Marien Platz, that's not too much way. this is my 2nd stay at a&o hostels and i am pleased for all. it should be better to serve wifi service free because many of hostels do this service free.

Worst Hostel I have ever stayed in. Rooms were dirty. I couldn't fall asleep because of screaming drunks running around my floor after midnight. Then the next morning before 8 am there were two girls yelling at each other in the hallway for 20 minutes. The staff didn't do anything about it. People were smoking weed outside the window when I was trying to sleep. The line to check in took about 20 minutes. No breakfast. I should have slept under a bridge instead. Avoid at all costs!

Free wifi and free breakfast would be great, but it was far more than what I expected, really liked to stay at the room with my friends.

When we arrived at the hostel, they told us that we arrived an hour before the time we had said in the booking, and for this reason we couldn't have our bed linen. At midnight we wanted our bed linen but they told us that there were too much people in the hostel in that moment and that we had to wait for the bed linen. What kind of reasons is this?We had paid for our bed linen, it's not my problem how many peolpe are or not in the hostel! bad organization. clean your bed linen in advance!!!

The place is alright in general. However, the check-in was terrible. They did not inform us that the key cards need to be used exactly the other way round than it is indicated (for whatever reason) and did not resolve the problem immediately, so we needed to mess around a while before actually getting into our room. After a day, the cards stopped working because - as it turned out - they were activated just for one day although we booked for three days. Everything else was ok.

For the hotel, the traffic is convienient. But the room near the street is a little bit noise. Anyway it is very cheap to stay.
