It's one of those "Hotel-like" hostels. The whole environment is clean and the price is satisfying, but not really a place to hangout with travelers. The hostel is located only ~300m away from the main station so would be very convenient for all travelers. Is recommended to those who are only looking for a nice clean place to stay.
very big, good and efficient hostel with friendly staff near the railway station
You have to pay for everything when you get there
We had a good stay here, it's a little hard to find but once you know where it is it is ridiculously close to the train station. Rooms were clean, and staff polite. Unimpressed that upon arrival we were advised the wifi is not free (€10 for 7 days). This is a basic service that should be offered by hostels for travellers. Linen also not included (€3) I'm happy to pay these costs when they're included in the price, but it's annoying to get to a hostel and find out it's actually more expensive.
The hostel is in a perfect location near the center and the main station. The rooms are very nice but the staff should be more carefull when organizing the guests in the rooms. For me it happened that I booked a bed in a 4 bed room and when I arrived there there was only a middle aged man sleeping there and I had to share the room with him alone. Since I am a female I was not feeling so confortable with the situation and this never happened to me before in any other hostel in the world...
Wifi terrible in the rooms. Charged for sheets. Room very clean though, bathroom facilities modern. Great location, very close to hbf. Would not stay here again though: too expensive for a hostel (we were desperate so had no choice) No free breakfast either
A&O is a big chain, so if you exspect any "community atmosphere" you might be disappointed, but if you just need a (well organized) place to crash, it´s completely ok.
Stayed here before heading to a Dortmund game. Nice hostel, helpful staff. Rooms are basic, you have to pay 3 euro for bed sheets. Just what we needed. Thanks.
It's really boring hostel and looks more like a hotel then a Hostel, not recommended for people travelling alone since you won't get an easy time meeting people...
Very close to the train station, clean and quiet. Nice bar downstairs. Guess I didn't read about the 3 euro charge for linens, but oh well.
I stayed in this hostel 2 days long, located in the heart of the city but there is a security problem!!! Somebody vomited from upstairs into my staff and there were nobody to clean it! I complained the situation to the poor recepcionist girl in the morning and she had to clean it, There were no security guy to complain!!! It was my last day and I couldnt wash my shoes because of dry problem!!! You should make a lock into the windows definitely!!!!!!
Staff were really good but do not recommend this hostel for lone travellers as its basically a hotel that happens to have bunk bed dorm rooms
A tidy and clean hostel with a helpful staff. My only comment would be is that I was locked out and had to get my key card rebooted every evening as new people arrived. It was slightly annoying as I had to go down and get up to the room again, but at least the staff was helpful in rebooting the card every single time.

too big and too much like a hotel for my liking. staff were helpful though. found the room key continually didnt work, which was a bit annoying.
Great stay! Facility is modern clean. The staff is helpful and location is within walking distance of the train station.
