The staff were less than useless. They were horrendously slow and knew as much about Vienna as we did and we'd only been there a day. The hostel was horribly warm and the staff wouldn't let you sit outside after 10pm. The hostel is also quite far out of the centre and there is no atmosphere in the hostel because everyone is sat on their phones. Definitely wouldn't revisit
Made us pay for bed linen. Under the beds are clearly never cleaned as they were filthy. Just as well it is close to the train station
Relatively good but being charged extra for sheets is ridiculous. Also there was a huge queue to check in and it was impossible to get drinks at the bar as the same staff operated the bar and the check in desk.

Only stay here if you like living in a hospital. The showers and security was great and right near the train station but it's just lifeless and very clinical.
Staff sometimes seems to be doing you a favor, when after all they are doing just their job. People are not so welcoming as supposed to be. Kitchen environment is 'laughable', small, bin usually full with trash falling to the ground floor, 2 hobs only for a huge hostel and is not uncommon to find the whole kitchen dirty. The rooms are clean and tidy, with lockers and good bathrooms, soap is available in good quantities, towels are offered. Next to one of the train stations, which helps a lot.
A really nice hostel, great facilities, great location right near the U-Bahn. Someone stole all of our food out of the fridge but I guess that wasn't the hostels fault. They rent out kitchen utensils for a deposit of 20€ but they didn't have enough to give to us, which was annoying but forgivable. Our experience of the place wasn't the best, mainly because all our food got eaten, but I'm sure other people's experiences would be better.
Hostel was more like a hostel than a hotel. Whilst it was clean, the hostel had no community spirit and the atmosphere and staff were nether particularly friendly. You were also charged for everything here, including bedding, sheets, teas and coffees and breakfast which were expected as complimentary as in other hostels.
The location is pretty bad and the staff were extremely rude on the reception. The rooms were pretty nice but the staff ruined it for us.
Very disappointed to arrive to unmade beds, had to pay €3.50 for sheets at reception. Location was pretty bad, right next to the main train station but otherwise in a completely dead/dodgy area of Vienna. Staff were not very helpful.
Kitchen should be bigger for use but good stay overall
Our stay at the A&O Wien Hauptbahnhof was reasonable, but nothing outstanding. The staff were efficient but weren't particularly friendly. The hostel is quite busy, especially in the evening but there were mostly groups of people (ie. Schools) when we were there, so not the best environment for solo travellers looking to meet people. A couple of things to mention: the hostel itself was very clean, no aircon in private rooms (very hot), only one washing machine.
The locker in the rooms are a bit too small to place any valuables but good for the money you and in a decent location, but a bit far from the centre. Good transport links.
Expensive for what it is ... there was a flood in reception and the rooftop bar we closed whilst we stayed. When we asked about it the staff were quite rude. the room was comfortable and clean and the location was ideal. essentially this was more like a hotel than a hostel, if you're looking to meet other folk and hang out with likeminded travellers this probably isn't the place for you.
I was almost put off by the bad reviews of staff here, but after visiting I have no idea what people are moaning about. The bloke who checked us in couldn't have been nicer, showed us where we should visit in vienna, marked a metro map for us and told us which tickets to get. Also there are big lockers in the rooms, generally decent place. However, wifi is absolutely awful, basically unusable wherever you go.
Clean, comfortable and very reasonable priced. Located just minutes from the HBF station - great for a night or two.
Not safe, someone had stollen our stuff from the fridge, in the room with 6 beds there are only 4 lockers. The Location is not central, you will always need to take some public transportation the get to the center.
Booked this hostel to have a break from dorms and completely regretted it, the staff were very unfriendly and unhelpful, and there were never enough to see everyone waiting. There was only one washing machine and a tiny kitchen for the guests was not acceptable for the number of guests staying. The cleaning staff came in when we were asleep hours before checkout and there was no a/c anywhere so everywhere was uncomfortable. We paid a lot of money and it was not good value, would not go again.
There are lots of better places to stay in Vienna - this is in the middle of a construction zone that's going to be an industrial park. It's near to every S-bahn line, but Vienna is so lovely to walk around that it's a shame. Also, you pay for sheets (+3.5 euro), but not for towels or soap or shampoo. The staff was a bit unfriendly and not very good - I was first given a room that was occupied
Would not stay again. No air con, rude staff, bad location, have to pay extra for sheets and card payments. We, and many other ppl had to change rooms cause they booked too many in one room.
