2 bathrooms are a little bit less for so many people.

Polish chick that works there was cool. Pretty far from The French quarter although it's only a few blocks from the trolley. We just caught a cab for $10 Over all it was fine

Ali was our host and was 100% brilliant. One of the loveliest hostels I've stayed in!

I had a wonderfull stay at the AAE bourbon hostel, the staff was lovely and very kind. FOr information a taxi cost 15$ to go down town and you will probably will found someone to share it with! Thank you to the staff to keep this hostel comfy and the energy they spent to make our stay interesting! I happy with my choice and I will do the same choice without any doubt. Julien

Best hostel! Had such a great time here. It's pretty boozy and sociable, if you like that sort of thing. You don't have to though, there were some guests there who didn't drink and party and that's cool too. Can I just say the staff are fantastic too, they were almost like other guests, chatting to us etc, totally laid back. There was a bit of a mixup with my booking when I first arrived but they went out of their way to sort it out for me and it didn't lessen my experience one bit. Stay here!!!

Hey, whoever is looking for a cheap, cosy and friendly place to stay, Bourbon hostel is the right place! Some lazy punks will consider 1.5 miles distance from the downtown as a disadvantage.. the walk to city centre down the magazine street is great, safe and with beautiful bungalow style homes... a lots of restaraunts around ;) and wallmart just few blocks away.. now, I think the location turns to be as an advantage. Special thanks to Shane, Alan, Ali and Ty!!!

I was very happy staying at the Bourbon House. Ty, Shane, Ali, and Reese who work there are all awesome, cool, and very helpful. Had a great time at the hostel and in new orleans, meeting new people and seeing new sights. Would definitely recommend the bourbon house. Thanks for making my stay a great time.

There are few bathrooms, so expect some waiting time. The neighborhood seemed kind of sketchy but I found no other reasons to worry too much about it. The hostel has a very interesting environment. It's a long walk to the French Quarter, so take the bus or the street car.

Staff made the stay. Day guy was friendly, informative, knowledgable, available. Ula, evening staff person, was, if anything, even better. She was always busy helping someone, but yet was still availble to others, very informative, and didn't forget to schedule my cab for 4:30 a.m. Will definitely use the facility again.

I had a great stay, and if I had to name a '5-star' Hostel, AAE Bourbon Hostel would be the first place to spring to mind.

The staff at the Hostel were very friendly and always helpful. They really helped with advice on what to do in NOLA. They really carried a great vibe that ensured one felt at ease.

Only reason I give it a poor value is because from 6am until check out the front door slammed every time someone walked in or out. Also was very loud voices in hall way very early. My room was located downstairs next to front door. Did not have a restful sleep. Other than that staff was really friendly. Would stay again only if front door is fixed, or was offered a room furthest from front door.

Awesome place. Its only drawback: a little far from downtown. The rest is just perfect: superkind staff, great people staying there and, you know, I went to Nola for the jazzfest and I met superveterans going to their 8th-9th jazzfest that had stayed there everytime. That has to mean something. Nice thing the free pancakes in the morning. Cleanliness both in the rooms and bathrooms just about perfect. I'll definitely repeat whenever I go back to Nola.

I love how the staff was willing to go out and on my first day, Ali was heading out at night and we all hung out around the city. That was very inviting and got the lay of the land!

I was very hesitant to stay in a hostel in New Orleans because regular priced hotels are still not very nice. This hostel made me happy, people were friendly, the staff was friendly, the hostel itself is fine, not extremely clean but comfortable enough. I would have liked to stay in a better room for the price we payed but it was jazz fest weekend, so I guess that's the best we could find,

The AAE Bourbon House Hostel is highly recommended! A more intimate hostel, the social aspect really made our entire stay. Everyone was extremely extremely friendly, guests and staff alike! The location in the Garden District was only blocks away from Magazine Street (classic New Orleans architecture, local bars, cafes, restaurants), St. Charles Street (street car access), and a short cab ride to the French Quarter. A BIG THANK YOU to Alan, Reese, Shane, Ali, and Kelly you guys rock!!!!

Would definitely recommend this place! I stayed at the India house for a couple days and this place is HEAPS better, on all levels! Staff are super cool and just want you to enjoy yourselves and will join you for a drink if it helps. Very clean. Kitchen is a bit small ans pokey. Don't let the location deter you, because magazine st is awesome to walk down too!
