Stayed during a conference visit. Great location- safe neighborhood and only 20 mins for the convention centre/French quarter and then on the other side 15 mins from cool bars. The staff were brilliant, so welcoming and thoughtful of what room I was in. The whole atmosphere was friendly, free pancakes for breakfast, and despite a large group of students staying no bathroom queues and was never kept awake! Good value for money! Thank you!

This hostel was really fun, and the staff were fantastic! They provided lots of helpful information about where to eat, what to see, etc., and were always very friendly. Particularly the lovely woman from Poland who's name I have forgotten unfortunately. I found my bed more uncomfortable than a typical hostel bed, but otherwise I was very happy with this hostel.

This is a very nice hostel in New Orleans. The location is 20 walking minutes away from french quarter. But there is a bus (Bus 11) that goes to downtown. The bed was the best I had during my trip. Moreover, free pancakes and coffee in the morning is a great start in the day. Jackson - the manager - is a very nice person. He gave us free food and a free ride to the bus stop (megabus). The only thing that is a little problem is that the hostel has only four bathrooms.

Have stayed in a lot of hostels, and know what I pay for, however this hostel is the worst I have ever stayed at. Location: very far off centre city, walk at least 25 min. Hostel is very close to the projects, and a lot of dodgy people hang around in the area. The hostel is the dirtiest I have ever seen: bedrooms ok, but stains, dirt and filth everywhere in the bathrooms, cracks in the floor, cockroaches coming out of the bathroom. Except for one uninterested staff. Dont go here.

I am sorry Maite Huis in t" Veld, that you felt this way. I would have loved for you to have informed the staff during your stay that you were unhappy. But your comments do not reflect what every other guest has said about the property?

Good hostel with helpful staff. I appreciated having been picked up and dropped at the bus station. Dormitory could be cleaner. Free pancakes until late morning is very convenient.

We had a nice stay and were especially happy with the upgrade to the apartment down the street! Downsides were that we were charged taxes twice (which was corrected after talking with the GM) and that we never got our ID back at the end (it wasn't an important ID, but if you are requiring us to give you one to hold on to, you should at least give it back at check out).

We got a ride there and back to amtrak for free, made pancakes for breakfast... Not bad. Get the goddamn nachos at the Flying burrito a few blocks away. Enough to fill 2 for 5$. Walked to bourbon st, 2 miles or so. Showers are busy in the morning. Had a really fun time with other guests. Mostly international travelers and stuff. Wouldn't worry about your stuff at this . Jason was super hospitable. Good for a memoracle conversation. We will be back!

The beds were very uncomfortable, the showers and toliets were locked for a long period of time only leaving one for a whole block of people. The heater/airconditioning didnt work in the room which made sleeping even more unbearable! The location is terrible, taxi drivers fond it hard to locate the property which than added to our cost of travel. We were kept awake constatly by people just walking to and from the toliet as the house is so old that every step someone makes it makes alot of noi

The main building was in decent order, but the annex I stayed in was dirty and in need of many repairs in the bathrooms. I was also surprised to discover that the room was not heated, and the thin blankets provided were inadequate for staying warm.

The set up was more like a house turned into a hostel. Feels very cosy upon walking in. I was staying in a room that you had to walk out of the front door and was separated from the main area so you had to walk out in the cold outside first to use bathroom and toilet. That was a bit annoying. There were mushrooms growing beside one of the bunks. Staff around the time of new years period was very disorganised as there were several people who said they booked but didn't appear in the system.

I do really like friendly atmosphere in Bourbon House, and manager Jason is very nice, very helpfull person. Excellent place to stay if you travel alone, there you will not be alienated and find company of new friends to go out and have fun. I was so pleased when we celebrated Christmas in hostel.

I've found my second home at Bourbon House! I think it's the best place for international travelers to stay and explore NOLA. It's in a safe neighborhood, quite close to French Quarter. The staff is amazing as well: Jason, the manager, is very helpful and Pamela, his assistant, makes the best pancake mix ever! :D I would recommend Bourbon House to all the bag packers and travelers from all over the world.

Bedriooms are stinking... If cleanness is not a problem, it is a perfect spot.

Good location and atmosphere in general, increased by the small patio where people can gather. Cleanliness could be much better. Big mushrooms were growing in my dorm for 5 days without anyone noticing. My dorm was outside the main building and not heated which was a concern when I was there for christmas.Bathroom facilities need to be revamped and are not enough. Last is the staff that besides over friendly manners does cross quite often the line and forget people there are their customers

pancakes for breakfast was good. However the manager was pretty in your face the whole time and made me feel really uncomfortable at times.

This may be a pretty good hostel but unfortunately the staff did not warn that the reception office will be open as late as at 9:30 am so I had to wait one and half hour to check out and collect my ID.

Nice large kitchen. Rooms tended to get quite stuffy and stinky with the lack of adequate ventilation. Although, it was nice being given a 4-bed dorm, when we had booked a 6-bed. Location is okay, with a 40 minute walk to the French quarter, or a bus ride (although the buses were very infrequent). Wifi was often very slow, hardly working. However, the computer provided at the hostel worked much faster. It was nice being provided with pancake batter. Staff were lovely.

the location is very good, about fifteen minutes walk to downtown. Chad, one of the staff, is very helpful. Price is really cheap. But I have to say it is not very clean.

Completely loved this place, simple public space but good garden area for chatting, Laundry in Hostel makes it easy to use. The house is simple and staff polite, rooms clean and bathrooms very clean especially considering the number of people using three washrooms (hostel manager even uses same washrooms) I recommend it as social and while it felt away from downtown, the transport and even walking was easy! Had the best week in a long while at a hostel, next time in NOLA I will return.

The hostel has a nice vibe and you can easily make friends. It's a great place to stay as long as you don't sleep in room 16. It's cold in the winter and it never get's clean since it's located outside the main house. Main areas are clean and cozy. The staff is great, I LOVE PAMELA! About location, you can be in the WWII museum in 15 min walking. Book it with time because it's always full. El hostal tiene buena vibra, pero no te quedes en el cuarto 16!
