Never again! I payed more than $ 200 for a an ugly, dirty dark room. Everything scrapped, not cleaned (dust deposition everywhere and a couple of hairs in the bathroom - really disgusting) and small. Mold in the bathroom, the toilet flushing was interrupted, when other guests took a shower. The "view" from the window was against a dirty wall one armlength apart, so the room had no daylight at any time. The bed was saggy. The only good thing about it was the location near to Times Square.

Hostelworld apparently wasn't recognised as a booking partner...even though email and printed confirmation was supplied. As a result the deposit which had already been paid was demanded by the hotel...I didn't back down on this and after 20 minutes of dispute they backed down. I do not believe this was genuine and would advise caution where money is concerned here. The hotel and room itself was in poor condition and is in desperate need of repair, updating, or at least a very good clean.

The hotel was a fraud. Once you are there, you check that it doesn´t even have that name!!! There are several notice on the main door reading that the hotel has been closed several times by the authorities because it is dangerous to life, and that you enter the building under your own responsability. In addition to this, the price once you get there is higher because of some "taxes". Awful experience. Couldn´t stay there for the whole time.

There is NO elevator! Visitors with large luggage please think more about it. The transportation to JFK airport is NOT free, it cost 65 dollars for one way! The room is extremely small and tiny including the bathroom. The only advantage to live here is the location.

No heating in the room, filthy carpet, no garbage bin in the room or in the bathroom.

Our stay was very unpleasant after we noticed a rat/mouse had eaten some chocolate we had in our room, were bitten by bed bugs, the toilet stopped working and the cold New York night air came through a gap in the window that wouldn't close properly. All this was after they had changed us from the first room, which was even worse. DO NOT STAY HERE! There is a notice on the front door and several rooms the states 'hazardous to human health, do not enter' placed there by a NYC building inspector...

We abandoned this hotel after 3 nights as RATS got into a chocolate bar in our tiny room. We got MULTIPLE INSECT BITES all over us whilst sleeping. It was run down, the air conditioning did not work, there was no fan in the bathroom and the window wouldn't open thus the whole room steamed up and there was mould marks on the wall. The electrical sockets were falling out of the wall exposing bare wires. I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND THAT ANYONE STAYS HERE IF THEY VALUE THEIR OWN HEALTH.

Perfect location but it is really ugly place to stay. Rats ate my chocolate in my bag. Nasty.
