Rooms are comfortable in the large cozy old country style house. Parking is somewhat limited but okay.

If you are a brazilian or latino, this is a cool area with lots of stores which sell amazing food. It's a bit far from downtown boston but the price of the hostel is worth it. It`s very cosy and neat and you get to meet nice people if you share a room in the hostel. I would definetely get back to this amazing place.

Farrington Inn is a great place if you looking for a cheap and uncomplicated lodging. I stayed in a mixed dorm which was small but and nice and had TV. Unfortunately, the guys in my room were snoring but when I asked for another room the next morning, I got another dorm without any extra charge and nobody else turned up so I had de facto a single room which was great. The staff is super friendly and helps you with all your needs ( hair dryer, plug converter). It's located in a nice neighboorhood

It is freezing! Immediatly ask for an extra blanket and heater because in the winter time it's really cold. Could also be because our heater in the room was broken, so check it before. First night we had a very bad night because of the cold, but the next morning we did get extra heater and blankets easily, so staff is definitely keen to help out if you tell them.

The building is really old so I'm not sure it is clean enough but still I'm really satisfied with the hostel. The old furniture has, in a way, a good antique atmosphere and I didn't think it was filthy. It was a bit far from downtown but the hostel was surrounded by various good restaurants and taking the fare in consideration, the location is still good. The hostel will lend you towels.

Although the agreement to keep the hostel a quiet place was signed, I see many residents who ignored the agreement and, possibly, had a party. This disrupted my sleep on all the nights of my stay. The shower has a large variation in temperature, ranging from the Arctic Ocean one minute, and Mordor the next. The radiator is also ineffective in keeping the room warm in the middle of the night. Paper thin blankets didn't help warm me up either.

POSITIVE: * many places around the block to eat, have breakfast and use internet * minutes away from the green line train * TV in the room NEGATIVE: *freezing cold! I slept with 3 blankets and 2 pairs of socks and still woke up because I was freezing *the whole building looks like it's gonna crumble down any moment. *the bathroom did NOT look clean: many tiles missing, humidity spots, furniture broken. *WIFI not working

I stayed there with my boyfriend. Our room was extremely cold, and there is no place to take shower in our floor (2nd floor). Moreover, the internet access was extremely slow.

BEDBUGS!!! This is no joke. I checked in, sat on bed and within an hour 2 bedbugs had jumped on me. I verified that they were not some other type of bug using images on wikipedia. I grabbed my suitcase and left. A refund is not worth the risk of staying and getting bitten. At an interview the next day, I met someone who had stayed at the Farrington and whose luggage and clothing were infested. I would not recommend this place to my worst enemy.

Wasn't expecting the Ritz, but the amenities and quality of the hostel were not worth the $120 I ended up paying for two people for two nights. The place could easily be dusted and swept up a bit. However, bathrooms were clean, towels provided, which is great. A short walk from the train stop, close to shops and restaurants. Might stay there again.

Too bad the hostel did not have lockers. My sunglasses got stolen which is sad.

It would be easy to put up a mirror over the sink, fix the slow drain in the shared bathroom, and repair the loose floor tiles. There should be a bath mat that people can use if they want to. I stayed in room 128.

Nice and quiet. The main problem is that staying in the next door house, I didn't have access to the lounge area in the main house, so there was no where to sit other than in the room.

I don't understand the negative reviews. I had a fun experience, adequate bed, and no bed bugs; this is a hostel, not a 5 star hotel; what more can be expected? The building itself has a lot of character, having been built circa 1860 with winding stair cases and a nice fireplace in the common reception area. My only complaint is that for what you get $50.00 a night is a bit pricey. Overall average stay with no complaints.

As a Hotel, it is reasonable, but as a Hostel, it is horrible. It is the worst place I've ever stayed at, and too expensive for what you get. There is no common room, which makes it hard to meet other people or to do anything if someone else in your room wants to sleep. My room was quite drafty and cold, and the blankets were way too thin. The wifi was sketchy. The bathroom ceiling leaked, which meant there was a pool of water on the floor when it rained. There are no lockers in the rooms.

People I met in there were there like me because everything else was booked out. It is two old buildings in the suburbs, in a not good neighbourhood. 40 years old carpet and couches. It is relativly clean though and ten minutes to the T-line.
