great idea to have a hostel in an old chocolate factory. the kitchen facilities were great and the dvd collection was monstrous, with all my favourite movies :) although it is a little way out from the town center its a very nice hostel and when i did meet the staff (as they are not always around) they were very friendly and welcoming people who did as much as possible to make my stay as nice as possible. i only stayed two nights... but wish i stayed longer. will definitely be back for sure :)

Nice hostel, lots of things to do, kitchen utensils all available, location is ok. We had the room next to the front door and heard everybody coming in and out the hostel during the evening/night. Clean showers/toilets.

One of the loveliest, most friendly places I've ever stayed. The location isn't quite as good as the central youth hostel, but the atmosphere, price, facilities (everything) are so much better that this would certainly be my first choice. It's as though the owners are doing everything they can to make sure you have a comfortable and happy stay. It's so easy to meet people here, everything you could ever think you'll need is provided.. I'd recommend this to everyone.

Although Abhostel is located a bit out of the way (it is still easily accessible through tram), it's a very nice friendly place with a very family environment. Greg (and in fact, all of his family!) are very helpful and give great recommendations for places to visit and things to do. Would have loved to stay here for a longer time though, will do it the next time!

The staff was very friendly and accommodating. Overall the dorms and bathrooms were clean and the kitchen facilities were great. It's more expensive than the average hostel in Europe but seems about average for Antwerp. They have lockers available but there are not enough for everyone if the hostel is full. They also had a really nice lounge and dining area.

A little bit of a walk from the city's historic centre but not too bad. In the Morrocan area so there are a lot of cool markets and cheap meat if you are into self catering. Hostel common area is huge and comfortable. Would definately stay here again!

Large, open common area with good kitchen and things to do. Owners were incredibly nice but besides to check people in, there is no staff working which means nobody to ask questions. Rooms were cold and not much room to put things. Didn't like the automatic lights in the bathroom - it kept turning off every few minutes when I was in the shower. Location was ok - quiet and near a tram stop but not much around it. Overall, good for budget, independent travelers.

I really loved the laid back atmosphere of this hostel and would love to come back again although I wish that the sink in the bathroom had hot water. Other than that I had a fantastic time and met some really interesting people at Abhostel!

A gem in a town of gems ,) Comfy, clean & cool. We enjoyed: - the style (very nicely decorated rooms and common area) - the cleanliness - the breakfast at any time in the morning with no need to hurry up - the free wifi & the free maps - the beer machine - the friendly mood.

Great hostel to stay at! Unique style, dorms and bathroom clean, eggs for breakfast if you fancy... Owners are very friendly too, but be sure you're ready to check-out by 11am sharp! I'd definitely stay there again.

It's not the easiest place to find, especially after sampling the local brew, but the location is fantastic for discovering the quirkier parts of Antwerp, off the beaten track, and the staff were amazing and always on hand for giving directions. Would definitely stay again
