Really enjoyed my stay, the hostel was so clean, the staff cleaned the hostel throughout the day to ensure it was kept clean. The hostel offered a bus to the town and various other paces. It also picks you up from the greyhound bus stop even though its only a 200 m walk. I really enjoyed my stay I was there to relax and this hostel is the best place to do that.

Not much to write home about, not a very social/friendly hostel, everyone sticks in their own groups. The staff weren't that knowledgeable about tours and other destinations in Oz. We didn't like the fact that all the showers were downstairs, felt like being in a swimming pool changing room. The pool was nice but not enough sunbeds which was a little annoying. Overall, it was ok but I wouldn't stay there again.

Hi Natalie, It was a shame the weather was wet during your stay as this can dampen the mood if you let it...we find most guests interact well with each other and have a number of activities on offer to encourage this. Our tour desk is very busy promoting local and regional tours (Qld and Nth NSW) and feel it is not in the guests best interest to focus outside of these areas as "locals always know best" what is on offer. Best of luck on your travels.

Great chillax hostel, stuff going on all the time. Good pool and close to woolworths/beach. Staff are brilliant too, giving good advice on tours making it one of the best hostels stayed at.

Absolute backpackers has to be one of the best hostels i have stayed in on the east coast! The hostel is so clean, the staff seem to be cleaning constantly which is great! The staff are so friendly, Peta, Ben and Gemma on reception go out of their way to help! There is a free bus to town and also a free BBQ on saturdays...perfect! 2 mins walk to the amazing beach! I definitely recommend staying at this hostel! Like there slogan says...It really is like a resort disguised as a hostel! Fab place!

This was an amazing hostel, we wish we would have stayed longer. The staff was so friendly and informative, and everything was spotless. It's a little far from Mission Beach proper, but they run a shuttle everyday, so it's no problem. Very chill, very comfortable.

I really enjoyed my stay at absolute backpackers. I´ve never seen such a nice hostel like this. The team is great and very helpful, it feels like a big family over there. Everything is clean. I will come back :-) only bad thing are the internet prices, but that´s fine compares to the rest :-)

Very nice hostel with friendly staff, also loads of free things to do. I would have gladly stayed here longer than one night.

Asked for advice on Whitsundays at reception and they gave us a brochure and didnt go through any of it or help. Went to bed one night and the fan wasn't working - reported it to the guy on duty and nothing happened. Next morning I told them on reception and they really couldn't have cared less. Staff weren't brilliant at all.

Hi Katie - This is a strange one as we did have fan problems over the weekend in room C2 at 11pm on Saturday night. All guests of this room were reallocated to another room on Sunday am until the electrician could get here on Monday. As you were in the room next door in C1 Katie, the power would have been off only temporarily while the problem was investigated and repairs were attempted. The staff would not have dismissed your enquiries and would have been making every attempt to get the guests in C2 comfortable. Staff actually go out of their way to make ALL guests comfortable and help you with any questions whether it be for tours, local knowledge or general enquiries. We pride ourselves on our customer service.

Gemma and Ben were brilliant. Top hosts and needed some chillout time after partying in Cairns. Staff were very friendly and even played different games everynight. If you wanted a party place then this isn't for you. A chilled out relaxing hostel with plenty of friendlyness = Absolutebackpackers! Cheers guys. Mark + Darren from Ipswich, Suffolk, UK.
