Having to leave the hostel between 11am and 2pm sucks, to be sincere. You're not allowed to go in even if you forgot something or need to leave a backpack in your room. And there's wifi only in the common area, not in the room. Other than that, very clean, perfect location, huge rooms, with all the space in the world for you. No bunkbeds... The rooms are really perfect. Good value.

Great friendly staffs. Vending machines in the kitchen sells reasonably priced drinks as well. Lockers come with locks so you don't even have to worry about it. Fantastic place to stay. Will be back!

The hostel is excellent and centrally located. It's close enough from the train station to walk, and even closer to all the things you'll want to see. It's clean, the staff are friendly and very helpful. My only complaint is that the water did not stay hot in the shower. It would go cold then get hot again. Other than that, it was great.

The Academy Hostel in Florence was our home for 4 nights - perfect location in Central Firenze with incredible staff and a great spot to meet fellow travelers. The rooms were spacious and the entire hostel was extremely clean. On top of the basics, the staff were extremely knowledgeable and able to provide us with local restaurant suggestions and entertainment options when we were in need. Will gladly recommend this hostel and stay here again in the future!

100% excellent! I can't imagine that our dorm still with privacy (It's very nice that they added a partition besides each bed), wifi available almost everywhere included my rooms! Breakfast included plus some light meal will be made by the hostel staffs with wine for FREE! Of course the cleaniness and the location is 100%, just perfect! Definity will stay there again!

Everything a traveller needs. Very comfortable stay with super sweet staff. Washing is too expensive though and kitchen fridge is too small. Other than that, great stay!

Location was very near city centre and main train station and easily locatable because of its proximity with the Duomo, only problem is that they are very strict with the 2pm check in timing, which causes a huge bottleneck and queues to go into the rooms. Worth the money for the facilities and WiFi was considerably fast and they limit it to the public areas to reduce noise near rooms.

The hostel was voted several times as the best hostel in Italy and it is easy to understand why. It is located centrally, very close to the famous Duomo. The facilities are top-notch. The price (yes, it is a bit expensive) includes not only a breakfast but also a famous Italian aperitivo – a get together to have a bit of wine and food before heading for a full meal. The place is very clean, the best bathroom I have seen in a hostel and very friendly and relaxed staff.

This hostel was clean and tidy with great amenities, friendly and helpful staff and had a really nice warm, social feeling. Very central location too!

this place was amazing. clean facilities, helpful staff, free snack/dinner and wine every night, so it was easy to meet other travelers. they want you to leave the hostel during mid day, which you should be out seeing the sights during those hours anyway, but my wife was sick and they allowed us to stay in the hostel while they cleaned without any hassle. very close to the Duomo and Academy Gallery. you can book day trips at reception also. definitely recommend staying here.

Great location! Loved the fact that the bathroom was clean and the receptionists were all so helpful. The young lady ( I think she was the only lady there!) went out of her way to help us check whether The Mall was open or not on 1st May as we had planned to go there. Much appreciated.

The best hostel I have stayed at, by far. The reviews don't lie. This is one of the best. The only bad thing is being locked out from 11-2pm, but that doesn't change my rating. You're here in Florence to explore the city anyway! Stay here, you will meet a lot of wonderful people and have a great time!

Definitely, a keeper. When I go back to Florence, I will be there again. It is not expensive (ny Italian pattern) and really good. Besides, it's only 50m from the Duomo, the heart of the city.

The hostel has a great location in Florence, a very kind staff willing to help out any given time. The room was very clean, although it has a poor lightining. It's a great choice if you are looking for a good location at a resonable price. I recommend it.

Fantastic Hostel! The place is incredibly clean (they have a daily lock-out between 11am and 2pm to clean the whole place), the staff were very friendly and helpful and the facilities were great. This is a great hostel to meet other people at, they have an "aperetivi" hour at 6:30 where you can join in on the group discussions going on. The location could not possibly get better, when leaving the front door the Duomo is exactly to your right, right in the city center. Not at all a party hostel

The hotel was clean. Clean beds and sheets. Good breakfast every morning. The internet was a bit slow on wireless. Three computers, two running Linux. A bit slow. The PC was OK. A few games/ PS2 etc. Good collection of brochures, books. Hardly any group activities organized. Should consider organizing some group tours, pubbing etc to get people to interact.

This is probably the best hostel I've ever stayed in. Brilliantly located about 1min from Il Duomo, super clean, free breakfast, wifi and the appetisers at 6.30pm saved us the cost of a meal out! On the whole it felt more like a hotel. Highly recommended, you can't really go wrong with Academy Hostel. If I was being picky I'd say that the room being next to reception meant it was slightly noisy. Also worth noting that they ask you to leave your rooms between 11-2pm for cleaning.

Good place to stay, one of the "upper end" hostels. Great location, very clean and spacious dorms (no bunks). Quiet and easy to sleep well and see Florence, it is no party place. Also spacious common area, so contrary to many cramped places you have a sense of privacy despite it being a hostel. The only thing...throw-away plastic cutlery and plastic plates for breakfast? You must be kidding....come on, guys, it's 2012, get greener! Other than that, no quibbles.
