Loved it. First time as a solo traveller and was nervous about staying here in mixed dorms but it was great. Clean bathrooms, best location. Only thing was in the morning there was construction work outside that was very loud.

I enjoyed my stay at this hostel. Everyone was very respectful and the staff was friendly. My only complaint is the amount of bathrooms and the amount of electrical sockets available in the room. Other than than it's great! P.s. just a heads up, you have to leave the hostel from 11 am to 2 pm while they clean~
Great location, spacious rooms, and good shower pressure. Wi-fi was not available in the bedrooms (only the common area), and there were very few power outlets available in the bedrooms.

I loved my stay at Academy Hostel. The location was perfect and next to everything. The staff was extremely helpful and wonderful. The rooms are clean and very safe. Best of all is that they serve wine and a little tapa in the evening so people can meet and mingle. I would absolutely stay here again or recommend it to a friend.
Great hostel!! Nice terrace and facilities. Free wine and snacks in the evening are superb too.
This is a great hostel, and you could do far worse than staying here. It is a stone's throw from both the Duomo and the Accademia. The staff here are very helpful and friendly. They answered all of my questions, and even helped to make sure I could get out of Florence during the recent transport strike!
This place is awesome. Not being in bunks is a bonus! The only thing that didn't 'cut the mustard' was the cooking fascilities. Only a microwave and no cook tops.
What a great hostel! One of the best I've stayed in anywhere in the world. The staff are fantastic, the facilities are fantastic - most importantly it is so so clean! The entire hostel is shut between 11-2 for full cleaning and they do an immaculate job. Everything works, the location is excellent and the team there couldn't do enough to help me. I was so impressed and would have been happier to stay a lot longer (it was a short overnight stay only). Definitely recommended!
I couldn't think of a better location for a hostel, it's right next to duomo and everything it's close to duomo. It's a very spacious hostel, no bunk beds, that can be good. The bathrooms are really clean. The wine thing that happens every evening it's a great idea so everybody in the hostel gets a chance to socialize. Maybe they could have more wine. The only thing I didn't like was the breakfast, I thought it was poor.
AMAZING hostel. Maybe even the cleaniest I have ever seen so far. Well equipped, even with nightlights, free apero (wine and pasta) every day at 18.30 where you meet other people. In the evenings, the receptionists take you out to their favorite places. And come on, you literally LOOK onto the Florence dome from the entry - WOW! Just rooms with windows to the street can be a bit noisy with people from outside at the weekend. But overall: One of the very best hostels, I have ever been to!!
It was the best hostel I've ever stayed! The rooms are really clean, and so are the bathrooms. The staff is great, really friendly and helpful. Breakfast was good too. I would definitely recommend it and whenever I go back to Florence, I will stay there again, for sure.
One of the best hostels I have stayed at. Very clean, staff friendly and helpful always. Location is excellent and close to station , tourist attractions . The directions were a little bit confusing to start with when coming from the station but figured it out eventually. Will be back.
I love the beds in the dorms: there is no bunk bed, just regular beds. Very good location, it's really easy to get to the main tourists attractions in the city and to the train station.
Expensive hostel.. but very modern facilities with excellent rooms and good staff.. Appetisers on the terrace are a great ideal and very good for solo travellers who might want to meet people.
Only stayed for one night, but what I saw looked good- facilities, cool people, nice rooms. Only thing I would say is that I paid for a 4 bed dorm (room M) and it was VERY noisy from the street, people in the hostel and right near a security door that makes loud buzzing noises. And I normally sleep through most things!
You MUST stay here! The aperitivo (food and wine at 6:30) was a fanstasic way to meet people - I met fantastic groups of people each of the 3 nights I was there. The staff (Dennis and Toto in particular) are also very friendly and Dennis even took us out one night to show us the recommended places to eat, good gelato and where to find some tequila shots! I could almost live at Academy Hostel, such a wonderful experience!
What a great location in Florence. The hostel is close to all major tourist attractions but still felt private and secure. This was my first time in a hostel and as an 'older' solo female, it was a great way to meet other travellers and socialise without feeling like I was out of place in a youth hostel.
I had a great last-minute stay at Academy Hostel. I"m older (50) so had no idea what to expect but was leery, but honestly it was a terrific experience. Everyone who worked there was fabulous (special props to Dennis), they were helpful even as concierges, an unexpected bonus. The hostel was very clean. I stayed in every sort of room configuration because I had shown up at the last minute, and kept extending my stay, and they all worked out great. I'd definitely return!

I had an amazing experience there, staff was friendly very easy to meet others and the hostel was very cozy. At 18:30 they provide a nice snack like antipasta and a jug of local wine. It was great to eat out on the terrace and met others. I would definately stay there again!
Loved it. The Aperitivo every night is a great way to meet people. The location makes it a short walk to literally every sight. The little extra money is worth it.
