It was a clean hostel with free breakfast and evening snacks/wine. There is air conditioning in the room but they didn't have them running and there were no outlets by the beds, they were only by the door which is uncomfortable to let your phone sit by the door charging over night.
My best friend and I stayed at Academy Hostel in a 6 bed dorm and it was fantastic! The hostel is pristine, has great facilities - we found the computers especially useful for booking tickets for all the museums/galleries. The terrace is lovely for sitting out and having breakfast. It's great for socialising and meeting people from all over the world. A very good, central base for exploring Florence. Literally 30 seconds from the Duomo. All staff were friendly and very helpful.
It was a good hostel, strangely there were many mosquitos in the room even though the windows remained shut.
If you looking for the things below then you must take this hostel ! 24 steps to Duomo Quiet area Free breakfast Free apitizer around 6.30 pm(make friend) Free map Free towel Free locker in the room with the key And Free strong WiFi everywhere *I was traveling alone but i've never felt alone in this hostel.(5 mixed) *You could easily get some new friends there but only if you want to. Hahahaha Ps: This review is up to my opinion. Take a look around First. ^^

This was a pretty cool hostel. The beds were nice, the rooms were clean, they had wifi everywhere. You can tell they weren't trying to shove as many beds as possible into the rooms which was nice. However there is a lock out from 11-2 which is very annoying and would be annoying at any hostel. Other than that is was great! Not a party hostel. Nice and quiet!
The first thing to note is probably its excellent location. A mere five minute walk from the Duomo, this is an ideal base for exploring Florence. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Two toilets might be too few considering how many people it needs to serve, but otherwise it is fantastically equipped, most notably with laundry facilities.
Stayed in the six bed mixed dorm for five nights. One of the best hostel experiences I have ever had. The location is great - about 2 minutes walk from the Duomo. Receptionist staff had plenty of helpful advise. Thank you guys! Loved that the room had single beds as opposed to bunk beds and was spread out on two levels so there was enough space and privacy. Secure locker for personal items. Highly recommended!
Great hostel less than a minute walk from the Duomo. Staff was friendly and helpful and helped myself and other guests when it looked like we wouldn't have a place to stay, even calling other hostels for us. Great comfortable beds (no bunk beds!) and great bathrooms and showers. Breakfast included, early evening appetizers and wine included, and some World Cup games on TV. Great security and 24hr staff at the desk.
Great hostel, lovely people who run it. They have a meet and greet every evening with wine and nibbles which is useful for meeting people currently staying there and the rooms are very spacious too. Wifi is great and everything is extremely clean. Really lovely place would definitely recommend it and go back again too!
I like the thoughtful touches such as offering free wine and nibbles in the evening and a soft torch to use at night so as not to wake your sleeping roomies when looking for something in your bag. The bathroom facilities were very good and this might be the first hostel I've ever stayed in to offer towels. Very friendly and helpful staff too. Very impressed overall.

Great location. Staff can be hit or miss depending on who is manning the desk. The atmosphere was lackluster but that is the fault of many of the patrons while I was there, not the hostel.
I was very satisfied with my stay! The hostel was very clean, staff were really helpful and friendly. The food and wine at 6.30 is a great opportunity to meet others from around the world. The Academy Hostel is located right by the beautiful Duomo, perfect for sightseeing. Overally, definitely excellent value for money!
Very comfortable and friendly hostel - not a party hostel.
Most probably the best hostel in Florence. Never had such a good sleep thanks to the beds and the silence in this hostel. They really effectively stress their ambition to be a very comfortable place that is perfect to recover from an exhausting day walking around Florence. The staff is very nice and helpful and there is also cheap drinks, plus a breakfast included. They even serve italian food in the evenings which helps you to save money.
What a lovely spot to stay. So relaxed and refreshing after the hectic crowds of Florence, I felt relief on walking inside the spacious entrance. The staff was welcoming and everything was molto bene. Thank you very much for providing a haven for travelers in your beautiful city. The information at the hostel was helpful in finding some things I would have missed, such as the central market which was like going to accademia of food. Bought produce and was able to make a meal back at the hostel.

Fantastic, super central loc'n. Wine and appies every night great for getting to know other travellers. Super clean. Bonus... laundry right in the hostel . There really were no negatives. Great stay:)
Pretty good place to stay. Only real problem I had was the wifi was pretty bad. It mostly didn't work.
This is a great hostel, right next to the Duomo, in the heart of Florence. Everything is within walking distance. The hostel is very clean and secure and has a great atmosphere, with an outside terrace to meet people from all over the world. I would definitely stay here again.
My 18yr. old son and I traveled to Italy staying at Hostels for the first time. I have to say that Academy Hostel was the BEST hostel ever!! Honestly, it was better than quality hotels I've stayed in, and as a mom, I'm picky! The location was amazing, right down the street from the Duomo, the security was perfect and the best part was Rosa, the staff person! Cute as can be, and helpful about everything. Rooms were big and clean, and breakfast was great!! Definitely stay there!!!!
This place gets high ratings for a reason. It's a fantastic hostel! The only possible negative is if you have bad roommates, but that's not the hostel's fault. Highly recommended!
