Definitely a great choice in Salvador. The only thing I would advert a little more on their page is that it is a party hostel, so not always easy to get some chill/no party music time since it goes on in the common space from breakfast to night time. Otherwise fantastic stay! Thank you

I have stayed in a lot of hostels and this is up there with one of the best. Facilites are fantastic, location is the best in Salvador, but the staff make the make the place, you feel like family as soon as you enter the door. Plenty going on at the hostel too. When you come to Salvador make sure you stay here!!!!

The stay was great! The hostel is very clean, the staff is friendly and help you with everything and the rooms are great. The only drawback is the noise at night, as pelourinho is an agitated area.

One of the best hostels I stayed in! Big beds, no typical bunks but like "boxes" with curtains to give you some privacy. They also provide a big locker for every bed, as well as a small locker (with power outlet!!), a indivdual reading light and a small ventilator (apart from the aircon at night). The kitchen/reception area is not huge, but very nice as well as the terrace. All of the staff is incredibly nice and helpful!!

Other hostels around the world should learn from this place. Great staff, comfortable rooms with your own curtain, power sockets and loads of secure storage. You want to party? Great, The atmosphere and crowd are great. You dont? No problem, rooms are away from main area and beds very comfortable. Couldnt find a single fault with this hostel. Thanks all!

One of the best hostels we've ever stayed at. Beds are excellent with lots of storage space and individual fans in addition to nighttime air con. Breakfast was excellent and everywhere was always really clean. Staff were really friendly and the hostel provided lots of info on what to see and do. Also facilities were excellent - free pasta/rice and cooking water, and a caipirinha every night! Location was also great, in the pelourinho with easy access to everywhere else.

Great hostel! It's small enough to feel really homely and the staff are super welcoming. Social atmosphere with free caipirinhas and stuff happening each night - go on a Tuesday as its samba Tuesdays in Salvador and the staff will take you out and show you the best places. Thanks again for looking after us Acai!

One of the better hostels I´ve stayed in. The beds construction is amazing. Good staff, good terrace. Could do with a bit of colour on the walls maybe

Thank you to all the staff for making our stay such an excellent one!

It's a nice hostel but the security is clearly totally inadequate if it can be raided twice in less than a year. I felt uncomfortable the whole time and regret having stayed. There are better alternatives.

The staff is the best I've ever experienced at a hostel. They are incredibly hospitable, and the hostel is a lovely location, kept very clean, and has a very social environment for guests. The reason for the bad review on security is because of the Salvador area in general. BEWARE. Pelourinho is very dangerous. Even though the Acai hostel is next to a police station and has a very high level of security equipment, our first night we were woken up in our beds at gun and knife point and robbed.

The hostel itself was great. Clean nice beds, great locker space, lively atmospher, and very nice and helpful staff. But my advice to you is do not go to Salvador. This was a secure hostel, it had good security or at least we though. We got raided in the middle of he night, by three men, 2 with guns and one with a knife, someone got stabbed and another person got shot. This stuff happens a lot on Salvador, just don't go there

Great staff - very friendly and welcoming. Good plan of activities. The breakfast is quite good. The facilities inside the rooms are great, especially as they offer a place to lock your belongings very easily. It's definitely good value for money. We highly recommend it.

Hands down the best hostel I've stayed in. Great staff, privacy curtains on every bunk, clean, nice breakfast, large lockable trundle lockers. Security would have an excellent, but there was more than one occasion when non-guests stayed overnight with one of my roommates........

Very nice hostel. Has everything you need as a traveler. The beds are great with their own curtains, fan, light and 2 lockers. Unfortunately the locker near my bed didnt close. So it was good that there were 2 lockers! Friendly staff, good atmosphere (also every night 1 free caipi) and they have a good informationmap and activitybord. Very nice breakfast! It's definitely a good choice to stay here!

The hostel itself and staff are great - no question! Also a good deal considering you get A/C in the rooms and breakfast is included. Two drawbacks: I found the atmosphere in Pelourinho a bit intimidating, there is police everywhere but that still didnt make me feel safe. Also, the guide suggested by the hostel (paid official guide) spent quite a bit of time passing through souvenir shops/restaurants, and then we were in a rush to get to the actual sights. He was a nice guy though ;)
