The beds were amazing. Blackout curtains, security box by the bed including charger as well as big bow under the bed for all your stuff. Plus personal small fan and lamp. So great. Great atmosphere in the hostel and sweet staff! Area can feel somewhat unsafe but nothing to be anxious about. Just be smart. :) Good hostel! Would not mind coming back.

Staff were nice, beds are great - cosy, clean, practicable and private. They could do a trade in distributing more beds like this to other places! Wifi good too. Only issues are the upstairs common area is small and everyone seems to be watching tv in it at night... There is an outdoor balcony too. Also i think that hostels that charge higher rates during carnival should provide carnival services i.e access to laundry facilities because external laundry is closed during special holidays. That's

Great hostel! Dorm beds have blackout curtains for complete privacy and individual fans, lamps, plug sockets. Common areas (bathroom, kitchen, terrace) are kept really clean. We were here during carnival and I can't speak highly enough of the owner... he is so nice, friendly, relaxed and he came out partying with everyone - nothing is too much trouble for him! Only negative - some of the other staff who were a bit rude/arrogant... they also take over the TV and couch area so it's not for guest

This is a great hostel. Friendly staff and well planned. Comfortable and sturdy beds. Each bed is equipped with large drawer that can be locked) and a small locker with an electric outlet, keeping your cell phone safe while being charged. Each bed has a curtain so each guest gets privacy and doesn't get bothered by light. Bathrooms and rooms are clean. (And free from mould! This had been an issue in previous hostels as I'm allergic to mould. NO problem in this place). Great value for your money.

By creating that place the owner put so much love in it you immediately feel when you enter. Staff always does more than you thought you could expect from them

WiFi wasn't working for 3 days and no one of the staff was trying to repair it. Same for payment by credit card. Rooms and bathrooms are not cleaned. When you ask for a service, the right person is never there... They prefer to watch tv :P Luckily, the caipirinha's are good :)

I was really impressed with Acai hostel. I felt so at home here that I booked some extra nights and will return. In the centre of historic Salvador, the location is perfect. The outdoor terrace is lovely. The dorms are very well designed with comfy beds, good lockers and plug sockets by the beds. I think the individual bed curtains are fantastic for privacy. The best thing is the sociable atmosphere and great staff. They really helped me when I had a problem with an airline/flight. Thanks Acai!x

Very cool hostel with a friendly staff. With curtains for each bed you feel like you can still have some privacy even though you are sharing a 8 beds room.

This is the best backpackers I've ever been to! Awesome facilities with small details which make backpackers life so much easier! Like a huge docker-drawer where all the stuff fits in, charger in the smaller locker to charge stuff while you are away, a black personal curtain which gives so much privacy and sleeping comfort. Plus the atmosphere and the team that is just great!

I have seen many backpackers in my life but the Açaì hostel in Salvador is definitely the best i'll ever stayed. The staff is great and very helpful and friendly. There is a lot of space for the backpacks/luggage etc. Every bed has curtains so you have privacy. The location can't be better here!

Really nice brand new hostel. Good breakfast and also free coffee at anytime, free pasta and a free caipirinha every night! Dorms are really comfy with a lot of privacy. Good activitity organised. Just didn't like the music selection...sorry guys! It might have been better to play some Brazilian music... Nice night out with all the people from the hostel on blessed Tuesday.

Stayed for 5 nights over the Christmas period. Dorms are very cool and secure with sockets in the cabinets to charge you electronic equipment. Two English guys, Diarmuid and Martin are too class guys and were always on hand to give advice about the night life and places to visit. Thanks guys
