I've been in hostels all over the world and have never met some one like Louis. He is so easy going and super helpful. Staying with him was an unreal first experience in New York City. I highly recommend.

Feel that you are staying at a friend's place rather than at the average hostel. Lots of good points (kitchen, close to the subway and 24h supermarket...) and no bad point, except additional storage space may be appreciated by some guests. This place is still new anyway, but very promising ! Thanks very much Louis, and keep it up !

It's more of a house than a hostel, but it was great to stay at! The house makes for an interesting atmosphere with other people and the owner Louis is great. Yes, it's in Queens but it's a 2 minute walk to a subway which takes you directly to Midtown in about 20 minutes. And the price is great. I'd stay here again.

Simple accommodation, hostel environment, very attentive host. Kitchen is small. Great for someone seeing New York on a budget.

When going to Alternative Accomodations, you're really a guest in Louis' house. Louis is a very welcoming and warm person, who will make you feel at home immediately. He'll be happy to help you with practical problems and with advice on things to do in New York. The bedrooms are rather small, but this is made up for by being able to use the living room, kitchen and bathroom, all of which are clean and properly equipped. We enjoyed it here and would definately stay here again!

Overall the hostel was GREAT! The hostel(more like house for me) is near to subway and they provide clean kitchen and bedroom for us as well. However, the staffs(kids) who check-in for us look like they do not know that there will be guests going to stay in the house. Maybe Loius was not there to organize things for them. The second things I would like to mention is the toilet located upstairs. Whenever we bath, the water will accumulated in the bathtub. Hope they will look into this matter.

This hostel was really good. When I arrived there, the atmosphere was so comfortable.Location was also not so far from Timesqure. You can go to Timewqure easily by the subway. And I was really happy to meet the owner(Luise?). He was so nice and kind.I like his smile. I'll never forget my trip and him. And if my friends want to go to NewYork, I will highly recommend this hostel. Thank you for everything.

This place is not your typical hostel -more like someone's home. The owner was very friendly and talked to us loads. The bedroom door doesn't lock from the outside and the front door was left unlocked - although there were often people in, wouldn't have felt valuables were that secure. Bathroom was nice and another bathroom had just been refurbished, other long-term guests were friendly.

I would definitely recommend this hostel to whomever is travelling to NYC on a low budget and would like to get an excellent value for money. I know that this hostel also has opportunities for prolonged stay in better conditions than the ones for a short term cheap stay. Irrespective of how much you pay, you'll get a fast wi-fi, all kinds of conveniences, including the kitchen and the utensils: you may cook your own food, store it in the fridge etc.

A wonderful place to stay! I enjoyed my time very much, and Louis was truly the most gracious owner and host I've had the pleasure of staying with in all my travels.
