Although it was a bit hard to tell the guests from the staff everyone there was happy to help anyway! the place feels a bit like an apartment - everyone hangs out together. Our room was a bit poky but the common areas were spacious and relaxed and it's not like you need to spend much time in the rooms anyway! we quickly felt like we were friends with everyone and found it very easy to settle in. Had a good time here and spent our first 2 nites in Ace b4 going to copacabana. This hostel is basic but fine for what we were looking for. Staff (especially Tomas) could not do enough and was very helpful. Would recommended for travellers in a small group but it would be too small for large group. Very friendly hostel run mostly by one family. A large group from the hostel were invited out for a crazy night in lapa with some of the people that worked at the hostel. This place is very nice,the atmosphere is always friendly because of the chill staff. The location is great. The janitor, Beto works all day, but is friendly and helpful.
