As someone who traveled alone, this place was home straight away. I booked 2 nights here and ended up staying 11 all up. The common room and lobby was a great place to get chatting with other travelers and right away I made heaps of new friends. The staff are absolutely excellent and speak English very well. The place was cleaned thoroughly each day and unlike other hostels, no one left their stuff lying around in common areas. Everyone kept their stuff tidy. Felt very safe, too.

The rooms need a bit more airing out, they were very smelly.

Had a great time! The staff were friendly and very helpful, facilities clean and easy to find, and a great value for the cost. The common area gathered most inhabitants, so it was easy to find other travelers who were interested in tagging along for a day or so. Honestly, I met some of my best backpacking friends at Ace Inn and it made all the difference for my stay in Tokyo. I would go back there in a heartbeat if ever in Tokyo again.

Ace Inn Shinjuku was a pretty good choice. It's conveniently located really close to a metro exit and you get great value for your money. The bunk beds with wooden partitions and curtains were quite comfortable - without exactly being the capsule type, they give you an idea of what those are like. I did think they could have done something about the smell around the shoe shelves at the reception :) But yeah, this place definitely works if you are a fairly uncomplicated traveler!

I fully understand the shower system, however maybe a system of 1 included shower per day, thanks to a token, would leave some guests less frustrated or surprised.

I really enjoy the wooden capsules; they are cozy and comfortable and more private than a bunk bed in an actual hostel. It's also really quiet and everyone there has a shared respect for keeping it peaceful.

Anyone reading this: this hostel has a curfew!! (i.e. you can't enter the hostel between 2-4.30am, after is okay though)! Just putting that out there since I didn't realise when I booked. Anyway, pretty decent hostel, mostly because of the location which, it being 2 subway stops from Shinjuku means you can get anywhere in Tokyo easily. It's also a really sociable place to meet other travellers, since it is such a big hostel with 10 floors. If I went to Tokyo i'd stay again due to price &location

Good location, really close to the metro station. Great value for money, the capsules are really comfortable and not so small, I would have liked to have a plug in every capsule, but if you want to recharge your camera battery you can bring it at the reception and they will do it for you, so no problem. All staff speaks English, and they're all really helpful and kind. Would definitely recommend.

Great place, Really easy to meet people, capsules were a good size and very comfortable given the price and location. Near shinjuku too which is full of decent bars and restaurants

Staff wasn't helpful at all when the Internet went down the first night I was there. Should have prepared for alternatives- or learn how to keep Wifi up!

I gave security excellent considering this is Japan and nothing will ever happen to you and neither to your luggage, believe me! However It can be shocking the first night in japan if u don't know this. Be aware showers are available for a 100¥ fee, didn't hurt but it was not on the description. Was good enough to spend a night! Wi-fi! Great! Each room has a router so no chance to be disconected!!! Credit card accepted! Gooood, don't take for granted in japan either!

No maps in English and they staff had no idea where to get it. Very incompetent for having many foreign travelers Elevator smells funny and there's no power outlet in your little hole where you sleep.

Great location, easy to find and near the metro. It seemed a bit big and soulless, better for a short stay or with a group. The common area was nice and big which was a plus

Great little hostel and my second stay here. The capsules are clean, comfortable and quite large. The common areas are clean and spacious with free wifi through the whole building. The hostel is right next to the Akobonobashi subway which takes you straight into Shinjuku station so very well located. The front desk staff are helpful and speak good english so ticks all the boxes for a trip to J Land!

I really enjoyed this hostel! The hostel isn't luxurious but it is only two stops from Shinjuku Station (or you can walk there in about 30 minutes) and the price is very cheap. You have to pay 100 yen for the showers but this was no problem. There were four for the men and presumably four for women so I never had to wait on a shower. Would definitely return here.
