I stayed on the 7th Floor and it was great. If you're a single female traveller, go for this floor. The capsule beds comes with privacy curtains and it's a great tool to give you a good nights rest as you get to shut out everyone else when you pull the curtain. It was new and good and simple. There was a lot of hair in the shower rooms. I stayed for one night and if I were an older person or someone more picky, I may have minded taking the elevator down and then walking down the stairs just to take a shower. The place was cheap, the beds clean and roomy, the location convenient. Down the street (turn right leaving the hostel and walk maybe a block or two past the Family Mart) there was a really great diner with great big sandwiches and tasty coffee.It was new and good and simple. Not the best hostel I've stayed in, but good if you want to stay in the Shinjuku area of Tokyo. 15 min walk from Ichigaya station (JR) and only 30 sec from Akebonobashi (non JR, but only 130yen from Shinjuku station). Capsule style accomodation, an interesting experience, plenty of room but can be quite noisy all night (people getting in late from a night out, and others getting up early to go to the fish market!), just pack a pair of ear plugs. Very nice staff. Good location near Toei Line station, 2 stops from Shinjuku station. Restaurant neighborhood 5-minute walk. Smells bad, especially the elevator. Expensive for the space provided. Ace Inn was alright, but nothing special. Staff did not seem to be particularly knowledgeable on Tokyo tourism. Also, when I stayed there were problems with the hot water. To make it worse, you have to pay to use the showers. Other than that, the capsule rooms were not as noisy as I thought they would be.Ace Inn was alright, but nothing special.
