A very good hostel, I only stayed for one night so can not really comment on the atmosphere. But they staff members were very helpful, even though one did over sleep I had to wait a little while to check in. Apologies were given and everyone was very helpful. The rooms were very clean and some good facilities, the common room was a little bit messy, but this is mainly due to other guests not cleaning up after themselves as the cleaners come every morning.

Backpackers Inn was okay, but definitely nothing special. Facilities were clean most of the times

Great hostel. Supernice staff. Free wlan which is definately a huge plus and even a few computers that are available free of charge. The kitchen and common room are nice and clean and so are the bedrooms. Absolutely worth a stay!! :-)

Trevor (owner) is the nicest man on Earth. He will help you with anything! Nice rooms, great communal area with TV, computers free of charge (free wifi) and comfy sofas. Small but Clean kitchen, very Clean over all. 10-minute walk from Victoria Sq. Great, clean bathrooms. Such a nice and friendly atmosphere in this hostel, it feels like home instantly! Would recommend this tou anyone, especially those who travel alone. Not too expensive and you get a lot for the Money! I would go back!

Really nice atmosphere, nice social areas in lounge and garden

Noisy, as our room was adjacent to bathrooms. Bedroom door had simple Yale rimlock - not secure. Some toilets had no handbasins and nearest basins often being used by people washing or brushing teeth. Kitchen very untidy and dirty. Management never seen on site, exception when showing new guests to rooms. Reception across the road in sister hostel is OK but management needs to look in on this hostel more often and be proactive. Good location and generally helpful staff in reception.

The staff are chatty . The rooms quiet enough to sleep and the beds very comfortable indeed. the free bus to downtown makes the 12 min walk needed if in a rush....the kitchen is a pig sty and needs firmer boundaries otherwise the adolescent minded clients will carry on expecting the parents / staff to clean up after them !! Some of teh dorm doors could be made not to slam loudly as they do by default in the middle of the nigth

I liked everything except for the cleanliness, showers not so clean but its okay, the worst part is the kitchen, so dirty, nobody cleans the dishes because the dish-washing liquid looks like water only lol.

My only complaint is that every morning the kitchen and lounge were a mess from the previous evening....beer bottles, pizza boxes, cups, plates all over the floor in the lounge and washing up in sink and on the sides and dirty table and work tops in kitchen. Thought the free tea and coffee was a nice touch. Could become a nice place.

Overall, ABPI was a great place to and I would recommend it to anyone going to Adelaide. The hostel is key code entry. The rooms were nice and had large bunks (I stayed in a 6 bed dorm), they even had a pop up closet for guests to use in this room. Facility-wise the kitchen had everything I needed without an extra deposit of utensils. The showers and toilets were well maintained. The Internet was included, but I didn't like that sites like Youtube and Official TV sites were blocked.
