I didn't now that the room I have is actually not in the hostel, but rather in a small hotel close by. It is a small and old hotel. There was a leakage on the floor by the bathroom door. You can see the carpet is wet there. The room is super tiny. The curtain looked really dusty. The only good thing about this place it is right in downtown SF.

booked a private ensuite. Was put up at the Fitzgerald instead. Would be good to hv been informed of this beforehand as I booked tours that would pick me up from the adelaide. room is small as expected, didn't seem that clean, but ok if you're just coming back to sleep.

Great hostel all round!! Really homely common area. Dorms are reasonable size and black out curtains for each bed is fantastic. Most staff were really helpful!

We were suppose to stay only few days at Adelaide but actually we stayed a whole week ! The hostel is great, The rooms are really nice and you have your own privacy even in dorms thanks to the curtains they put to every bed. The breakfast is just awesome! the best Ive seen so far !! Will can take you to great pub crawls !! I truly recommend it !!

staff at the reception is very unfriendly!!rooms are very different, although the same price-thats not fair!we were in the 6bed-dorm with no privacy at all-very small and no place to put the luggage,no cupboard or light by the beds (like other rooms did have!!!), and it was so small there was no space between the beds,we were all sleeping head to head!bathrooms are very dirty and grubby, showers with no water pressure...but excellent location, cheap laundry, free wifi and great breakfast incl.!!

During our stay, we were in two locations; the Dakota Hotel (6 nights) & the Fitzgerald Hotel (1 night). The Dakota was average, the elevator was ancient and the room, although old, was quite comfortable and spacious with a huge bed. Poor shower. Staff helpful & friendly. The Fitzgerald was horrible!! Staff were rude and unhelpful, the room was a shoebox, grubby and had a bad odour. Worse shower here! Patchy wifi in both locations; in Fitz there was no connection above the 1st floor.

The hostel is great. I spend a week there and its just great. The facilities are clean and the free breakfast is awesome. They have oatmeal and bagels and fresh fruit. Its great :) I can only recommend it to everyone. There is no better value for money.

I just had a great time at the adelaide hostel in San Francisco ! For a hostel it was just perfect for me. Breakfast (for a non-breakfaster) was great and good - for sightseeing-days the perfect start into the day :D I definitely would recommend this hostel. The price and what you get for it, is relly not bad. Also the staff were really friendly and helpful, including the daily activities they made in the evenings ... perfect for meeting new people and for having fun !

Well, I reserved Adelaide Hostel for private room but they moved me to The Fitzerald hotel near the hostel. But it was quite nice than I expected. The hotel was little bit expensive(I reserved Adelaide 4 nights for $280, but The Fitzerald was $330 for 4 nights.) One thing I disappointed was I can't use Wi-Fi in my room-I had to go down the first floor to use it.

I was put in the staff room at Dakota Hotel. This room was very messy, the bathroom wasn't cleaned in months and so the "atmosphere" wasn't what I expected it to be. That is the reason why I didn't like to stay there at all. Nevertheless I think the Adelaide is a perfect place to stay, especially because the Adelaide itself is a very nice place, they have a lot of activities and I loved the common room. The only reason why my rating was so negative was my room itself.

Located few blocks from Market st. The rooms are small but has lockers for each bed (BYOP-bring your own padlock) and has own bathroom, however toilet is not separate. Staff seemed not very organized; forgot to write down I already paid for my key deposit. All in all a run-of-the-mill type of hostel, nothing special or different but good for a night or 2 if you need a bed.

This is a well-run hostel. What I particularly liked was the comfortable 24-hour common room. There was no TV in there, so it was possible to read or talk without a loud TV dominating all the action, The TV was in a better place - downstairs in the kitchen. Breakfast was good value, and well supervised. The location is excellent - just far enough away from the major city noise. Plenty of hot water. Socialising activities for those interested, including organic plain popcorn on the movie night.

This is a great place to stay in the City. It is within walking distance to most areas of the city. Just beware the elavator can be a bit quirky.
