Nice hostel in centre of S.F. Clean, mostly friendly staff, free breakfast (toast, bagels & fruits), evening events. Bunk Beds are squeaking little too loud.

I thought the Adelaide was fantastic. I have a private suite with my OWN BATHROOM! I've had private suites at different hostels in the past, and STILL had to share a public bath. Plus, their breakfast was great. It was a good continental to get me down the road. Speaking of which, it also has a great location in the middle of downtown. The Adelaide was wonderful. If I come back to San Francisco again, I will most definitely stay there.

Great place, really good position. Really nice and friendly staff. Great facilities and really good for price. We loved our stay in San Francisco, and would reccomend this hostel to anyone! Also, the place accross the street Honey honey was awesom to eat at! and only a walk across the road from the hostel.

There wasn't much atmosphere in this place compared to the other hostels I stayed in in San Francisco, but it was cheaper. They have activities like bar crawls and walking tours which is good, and the breakfast is nice.

if you're a heavy sleeper, its ok, if you're not, you might have trouble cause the area is pretty active at nights... also the reception and cleaning people are overall good, except for a couple of douchy ones... they also change the location of the room sometimes to a hostel called Dakota just half a block away, for me it wasnt so serious, almost the same place... i would recommend it still

Cute set up. Only issue is that beds and pillows weren't that comfy.

Great location, Great price, fun time,be prepared for a lower level of cleanliness than at home. bathrooms were average, there was a bug in the shower in the winter on the 3rd floor, just city stuff like that. I would still go back next time i am in San Fran!

Great location right at downtown, also a safe place unless you travel too south. Nice common room and kitchen, also have computers and ATM available. Breakfast looks nice and the staff is helpful to give maps and directions. The rooms are a bit small and cleanliness could be better for both the room and the shared toilets, but overall its much worth the money.

As we booked a private room, we went over to their Hotel aspect of the hostel a street away. It was a small room but with a private bathroom and all the things you'd need. The breakfast each morning was awesome and gave us the sustenance to take on SF's big hills and bike rides. Location is perfect, staff are really helpful. Can't say much about the hostel as we weren't there but there was always activities on and it looked like a great place to chill.

We ended up bein sent to the Dakota sister hotel across the street and we loved it. Location is amazing and they had a yummy breakfast every morning. Staff was cool and helpful too. Only downside was the elevator was old school and did t work sometimes but no big deal.

Note as I was staying in a private room I stayed in the Fitzgerald Hotel, which is around the corner. I liked the Adelaide itself but I must be honest and say that the Fitzgerald was just average. Dont me wrong the location is excellent, but it was exceptionally noisy most of the time and the...the walls are not particularly soundproof. If you are a light sleeper than you wont like it here. I would still recommend as good value however as the location is Just too good!!

Adelaide hostel is located two blocks from Union Square, so you can walk in 5 minutes to that. It's really well positioned. Adelaide's staff was very flexible and allow us to stay in a modest hotel close to the hostel (it was the same business so sometimes they shift reservation from the hostel to the hotel) so we could split up in group of 4 and we had a private room with a private bathroom. All the staff was very kind even with some suggestions about the city (what to see, how, etc)

Private room, not in the main hostel but in another hotel ( Fitzgerald, Post St.). Weird smells, sheets not the cleanest. Breakfast in the basement. Too bad, cause The Adelaide hostel seemed great, and the neighborhood is ok ( next to Union Sq, close to Powell St)
