This hostel is well managed, friendly, knowledgeable staff. Great location, near the I-site centre. Clean & tidy, large equipped kitchen/ lounge area's, great facilities. Female deluxe has a hotel style bathroom, extra towels, little extra's, a lot of thought had gone into make the stay a pleasant one. Brett really puts his heart and soul into making it work, his sunday roast is delicious! He is a credit to the business. A difficult situation with a drunken female was managed well by all staff.

I stayed in the girls only ensuite room, it was simply bliss. Iron, hairdryer and hair straightener were provided. This room had a fabulous ensuite bathroom, the kind you find in good hotels. The room and bathroom were cleaned every day. The kitchen was great too, with lots of space and lots of utensils. The hostel is in an excellent location within 5 minutes walk to everything you need. I was travelling alone and met up with some great people at AQ hostel and there was always a great atmosphere

This hostel really thinks of everything. The owner has clearly traveled and been in many hostels before and knows the things that are great for backpackers from the little things like reading lights, abundant plugs, free internet, computers, to the more elaborate stuff like free bike rental, free go-pro camera rental, free iPads and free phone-calls to 30 countries...! My only complaint is that some (but not all) of the staff was extremely unfriendly and the place was really crowded.

Loved this hostel. It really makes you feel like you are at home (home away from home!). If I had the time I could quite easily spend a lot more time here. Everyone is really friendly and the advice you get is brilliant - the staff are always willing to help. The amount they lend out too is amazing and so useful for a traveler. You can relax in this hostel, knowing that everything is covered. AMAZING PLACE!

Everything was perfect. Nothing to complain about. Just a few positive things out off all the positive things: free unlimited wifi, a seperate reading light and 3 power points for every bed, lockers with power points in it, the bathroom is just amazing more like in a hotel, you can rent everything for free (adaptors, bikes, i pads, go pros, and a lot more...), hostel right in town but still very quiet to have a good sleep and even a balkony... The best hostel in NZ :)

We accidentally booked our beds for 2 days too early, but Brett was still kind enough to get us in. Some of the cleanest bathrooms I've seen! Lots of movies to borrow, free phone calls and wifi (although a bit slow), cheap soda, delicious, inexpensive dinners twice a week, fantastic location (check out the bakery around the corner!!!)... A really great hostel overall!

This is the best hostel i have ever been to. The staff were so friendly and nice and so helpful with every question that i had. All the facilities were really new and clean and well put together. Each night had a fun activity with it that made the atmosphere very homey and i feel very comfortable. The free access to bikes and computers powercords and wifi were very helpful. All in all the best hostel i have ever been to.

This was my favorite hostel I have ever stayed at, and I've stayed at plenty. The staff and welcoming environment made me feel right at home. I loved that they had awesome activities to built a community such as mario kart night, BBQ night, home-cooked chicken dinner, and trivia night. The rooms were extraordinarily clean and the bunk beds were comfortable. I also enjoyed the free perks such as free locker storage, heat and A/C, ipads, hair straighteners, blow driers, and power adapters.

Amazing €8 food nights are a bargain. Everything that should be free is free (tea, coffee, wifi etc) and clean towels are even provided! Great for a rainy day where you can relax and watch blu rays all day on a giant screen. The only trouble is that you'll miss all these things once you leave!

AMAZING HOSTEL!!! Great private rooms with everything in it, almost like a hotel. Kitchen set up was modern and fantastic. Perfect central location. I've travelled all over the world and this is one of the better hostels ive stayed in. Oh and make sure to go to the Sunday night dinner they have! Great way to meet people and delicious food. Thanks guys!
