Staying at AFei's Surf Hostel was the highlight of my trip to Taiwan AFei and his wife will go out of their way to show their guests a good time and to show us jialeshui which is an amazing surfing bay surrounded by jungle covered mountains in Kenting National Park. I am in the process of recommending AFei's to all my friends

We didn\'t get so good first impression about the hostel because staff didn\'t speak English at all and we didn\'t even know who was staff and who wasn\'t. Luckily some of the staff spoke English. Matresses were poor, but we could sleep on them. Staff was helpful and we enjoyed our stay. Location was excellent. It was only few hundred meters to the beach. I was little disappointed because surf board renting would have cost 400NTD + wet suit 200NTD (nearby surf board and wetsuit 380NTD).

Best hostel ever. I took the private room and I was just impressed! This is so cosy and nice. Of course totally clean as well. Location is directly next to the beach. You can directly book surfing lessons if you want or rent a scooter directly at the hostel. I will come back!

The 8 beds room is dark and very simple. The toilet room is not clean and a little dirty..... If you don't have much money, or if you a surfing fan, it is a good option but if not, I don't think you should stay here.

This hostel is highly recommend if you are looking for surfing experience in Kenting. This hostel is quite far away from the maintown (with all the shops & restaurants) - 10-15mins drive away. However, the main town is okay.. I spent 2 hours in the town on one evening and felt that's sufficient. If you prefer quieter place, this would be a good option.

we felt like we were staying at a friend's house, afei made us right at home, and even gave us rides into kenting from nanwan. the location was excellent- literally a one minute walk from beautiful beaches. the staff was also awesome- would defintely come back here again.

The Afei is a lovely little hostel and you're right on the beach. The staff are nice, though most seem to speak only Mandarin or the local dialect. We didn't take surf lessons, but they seemed really enthusiastic, next time. Just as a heads up, they have dogs incase you're allergic, but they are super sweet. My one complaint was the beds were really hard (wood with a matt), but I guess that comes with the territory when traveling in Asia. Recommend, we'll be staying there again.

A \"surf hostel\" in the truest sense of the phrase. There are more surfboards than beds, logically (excellent) surfing leasons are also available. Matresses are thin, but the rooms are clean and the staff helpful.

Staff was friendly and great if you like to surf. It's more located in NanWan rather than main Kenting, but it's like a 10 min scooter ride down there. Only one bathroom, but I didn't have any issues with it. It is close to the beach though.

Stayed for three nights. Perfect location across the street from an extremely quiet beach. About 10 minutes to town by bus or taxi (or Afei can even give you a ride in his bus). Not much to do at night here in winter (except drink at 7-11), but that's okay. We got a nice deal on a room upgrade, too, so it was VERY comfortable! He speaks English well, but most of the guests don't, but that's okay, too. Our beds were comfortable, shower warm and we even had a balcony.

The location is good, staff were friendly, but it didn't say anything about 3 dogs staying in the main room. I was sneezing the entire time I was there and was too sick to surf.
