The price was OK, but we had NO HEAT at all (in January): it was freezing. Most of the time there's no staff in the house, and it was not very clean. However, it is well located, at walking distance from all the touristic attractions.

Dirty, cramped and inconvenient. The rooms were small, without hot water, offered an abundance of mosquitoes, had no internet. The beds was ok, along with the service. Luckily we caught the maid walking by on the street. If she wasn't there, there would have been no one to let us in the building or check us in. There's also no one at reception usually. Not recommended (especially not for the price) unless everywhere else is booked.

Affossi mentioned that there will be available wifi connection. There was a wi-fi connection, but you have to stand near the window to get the connection. if you move a little bit far, then the connection will be gone. the staff did not speak English very well.

Great place to stay in Florence, the rooms are clean and neat, the place is very chill and in a great location, and the women in charge are very nice (as long as you get there on time and are not too disruptful). Definitely recommend it for people seeking a quite, relaxed time in Florence.

Our stay at Afossi Hostel House was terrible. It was the end of December and there was no heat in our room. When we asked for the heat to be turned on we were showed where an extra blanket was kept. We slept with our coats and gloves on and five blankets to try to keep warm. We were able to see our breath in the room. We ended up checking out a day early because we were so miserable. The owner was not around because of a family emergency so it is possible this was an off time for the hostel.

The hostel is cheap and the room is simple but has a modern and comfortable bathroom. Worse, the number of mosquitoes in the room, it was very difficult to sleep there.

The best of this hostel was its location: close to train station and few minutes by walk from city center. And the bedroom was clean. But: the pictures shown in hostelworld are out of keeping with reality. Both windows of our bedroom couldn't be closed totally, and one of them had a broken glass which had been fixed with tape. The pillows were too thin. The WC had broken one piece. And the towels were too small for drying myself completely. I don't suggest to spend more than 2 nights here.

The hostel house was exactly that, a private residence without any signs. The staff was not helpful and barely spoke english. Rooms were clean.

They only give one small towel. There is no breakfast! NO HEATING in November! (though they said that they put on the heating 2 hours and off for two hours...) The shower was broken. But there was warm water. The location is very good. There was nobody at the reception, I called and had to wait for people to show up.

The hostel is very clean, and the location very privileged, near from all touristic points in Florence. The hostel provides safety and privacy. Marta, the owner, is an outstanding person. I strongly reccommend this place. I crashed my car and she was very helpful, finding me a cab and all the help she could give. Thank you very much Marta for your hospitality and attention. Marcello

Beds and bathrooms were clean. The position is excellent, 10 min from Ponte Vecchio. Martha, the owner, is a very nice person and gives you all the information you need. The place though is very basic.

Martha, the host was great and the hostel was fine, however..... no AC and even worse, a small case of bedbugs, yep, bedbugs. Pretty sure I saw one in my shower when I got home from Europe. My friends and I had many bites to prove it. Not only that, we were woken early in the morning to abnoxious bells right outside our window.

Overall, we enjoyed our stay at Afossi House. This guesthouse is in a very good location and the rooms were very clean. Though there was no AC, we found our room cool even in 30 degree celsius plus weather. It was very quiet and peaceful, but we preferred that while we explored Florence during the day and enjoyed the great nightlife. This hostel is more of a guesthouse. There's no kitchen and no real common area to mingle with other guests, so it's best for travelers who prefer restful lodging.
