This is essentially an apartment that has been turned into a hostel. Reception is in what would be the living room and all bedrooms share one bathroom. The woman that runs it was very kind and it's in a great location, close to the sights and the train station. It was difficult to find as the only sign outside is the label "H. Afossi" on the door bell outside, but everything else was great.

10 people queuing for one bathroom is really a chore.out would help if the shower and basin and toilet are separated so different people can use the different ones at the same time. Would be nice to have more places to hang our towels and wet clothes.

The hostel is actually an apartment whose rooms are the private rooms of the hostel. We had an double room en suite. Room is cleaned only upon arrival of new guests, not every day. The only towels they have are handtowels, which makes it difficult after taking a shower. Lighting of the room was very poor. Very few power sockets as well. Room was also cold at night. There is heating but they turn it on for a couple of hours and only at night. Location very good though.

The hostess was very nice, can easily communicate with her in English. The room and bathroom clean, the hostel is close to downtown and easy to find. I can recommend this place for everyone

We loved Marta. She was so kind and showed us places to eat and visit. The location was really good and everything was close enough to walk. The room and bathroom were every clean and nice. The wifi was a little tricky and one bathroom was tough sometimes too but we really enjoyed our stay and it's definitely worth the money. Great hostel.

The Best: The staff is amazing. The owner is a very warm person (typical italian) with great personality who advised about the best places to visit and best places to eat (good and cheap) and go out at night. Also was very flexible with some problems with our reservations (our fault!). 5 star for the staff! The worse: So many doors to unlock. Safety is good. Not really a problem I think....

The staff is very nice! She's always kind and willing to help us for example, recommend some interesting place, clean the room, smile etc. Although the hostel seems old, it's near the downtown and easy to go anywhere :)

We loved the place. We were super lucky coz we got double with the bathroom inside for the same money, though double with shared bathroom was booked :) The location is just perfect. Very close to the railway station and downtown. The room was clean and the bed sheets were super clean. We saw the stuff (a very nice lady) just once, at arrival. Very quiet place, never saw neighbours. Good city map could be an advantage. But still they provide you with a black-white photocopy :)

Loved this hostel! I would recommend it to anyone. The women who owns it is very nice, and she\'ll give you a map and circle the best places to go. In a very quiet section, next to the river, and not far to walk to the party section of town. The bathroom is huge! The shower is very clean, too. However, there were no towels.

I like the place, but in the site says that it has parking and it has not. Moreover, one can not enter the city center by car without getting a ticket, and we were not told that until we get there.Only residents can enter and park in the center, so we had to pay 27 euros per day in a parking lot near the hostel to avoid being fined.

The price was OK, but we had NO HEAT at all (in January): it was freezing. Most of the time there's no staff in the house, and it was not very clean. However, it is well located, at walking distance from all the touristic attractions.

This place is more like a warehouse that they transformed into a hostel. The beds weren\'t even real beds. There was no permanent staff at the hostel. At some points of the day these 2 ladies used to come to the hostel for a few minutes, but they talked to each other really loud, like arguing, even before 9am. No respect to the guests who were sleeping. I found the doors of the building and even the hostel\'s door openned more than once, even when there was no staff there. I\'d never come back.

Dirty, cramped and inconvenient. The rooms were small, without hot water, offered an abundance of mosquitoes, had no internet. The beds was ok, along with the service. Luckily we caught the maid walking by on the street. If she wasn't there, there would have been no one to let us in the building or check us in. There's also no one at reception usually. Not recommended (especially not for the price) unless everywhere else is booked.

Affossi mentioned that there will be available wifi connection. There was a wi-fi connection, but you have to stand near the window to get the connection. if you move a little bit far, then the connection will be gone. the staff did not speak English very well.

Great place to stay in Florence, the rooms are clean and neat, the place is very chill and in a great location, and the women in charge are very nice (as long as you get there on time and are not too disruptful). Definitely recommend it for people seeking a quite, relaxed time in Florence.

Our stay at Afossi Hostel House was terrible. It was the end of December and there was no heat in our room. When we asked for the heat to be turned on we were showed where an extra blanket was kept. We slept with our coats and gloves on and five blankets to try to keep warm. We were able to see our breath in the room. We ended up checking out a day early because we were so miserable. The owner was not around because of a family emergency so it is possible this was an off time for the hostel.
