Great cosy place, we stayed only for one night, the hostel is beautiful, Karl, the owner, is really nice, there's a big kitchen, and a living room with fireplace. The walls might be a little thin, but otherwise the room was great!

A. Because it says that we do on our booking page and it's better than the standard toast and jam you get for free.Hope this helps.

Very hard to fault the hostel, it didn't even feel like a hostel, more of a homely hotel, the guy in charge was great, that's probably the main reason for my positive attitude although the setting, fire and general presentation of the hostel are all especially good

THIS PLACE IS AMAZING! I will definitely come back. Allie River is a renovated traditional Irish cottage which sits between a quaint river and the Irish west coast. This place bleeds character, security was top notch and Karl, the manager, is extremely helpful and kind. Both of our rooms were clean w/ on suite bathrooms. The hostel also had a washer/dryer and computer w/ internet for free customer use. Also, Doolin is a bit rural so check the bus schedules if you don't have a car.

i planned to to only stay for one night and stayed for 3! Great experience, supportive, helpful and friendly staff. A great place to go for a single traveler looking to meet up with other travelers. One of the best hostels I have stayed at in Ireland.

I did not actually stay at Aille River hostel. I had planned on an evening there, but due to ever changing logistics with my schedule, and busses, etc, I never made it. However I wanted to comment in that Karl, who I believe runs the place, is so extremely helpful and attentive. Organized, personable, and knowledgeable, that I will definitely get there on my next trip to Ireland! THANK YOU KARL! And sorry again for all of the changes and troubles!

Great atmosphere! Everyone was so friendly and made a lot of new friends. Karl and Steve were the best hosts! A prime example of how a hostel should be. We will definitely be back! Thanks again!

Really nice and helpful staff! Really cosy place with a nice big kitchen, and a living room with fireplace. Was supposed to stay only for two nights, but ended up staying more, because the environment was so nice and the surroundings so beautiful! The staff member Steve helped me out a lot with the routes to the the hike for the cliffs of moher, a wonderful and a bit challenging hike for a "first timer".

I've stayed at Aille River twice now - once back in '05 on a solo trip, and now this most recent trip with my whole family. Both times have been excellent. Great staff, great location, and the building has as much character as you will find anywhere. Sitting around the warm fireplace in the common room talking to other travelers is unbeatable.

The hostel had a great overall feel. The staff was helpful and the free laundry was nice - you do have to pay for the dryer (2€). Since the building is older the showers and bathrooms were very small and not the nicest, but they seemed clean. The bedroom (6 bed dormitory) was more spacious than others we've stayed in. Doolin is a small town, so considering your options, it is a good choice!
