This was our favorite hostel on this trip. The staff was helpful, the surroundings were cozy, and the parafait breakfast with fresh local berries was unbelievable.

An amazing hostel in almost every way apart from the lack of bathrooms! There are just two toilets and two showers for the whole hostel (one male and one female of each). Really big kitchen, with communal garlic, salt, and spices. Friendly and helpful staff and a great atmosphere. I loved the breakfast, it was nice to have bread that wasn't white for a change. Comfortable beds, although it would be a good idea to invest in ladders for the top bunks.

only having one female toilet and shower isn't very convenient for a hostel. the kitchen was good as was the location.

I've traveled in south Argentina and Chile for about 2 months, and this hostel is by far whom takes recycle and environment most seriously. Really good :)

I recommend Airebuenos. The location is less than 10min from both the fish market and the bus station. Breakfast is terrific – real (!) coffee, yogurt with granola and fresh fruit, brown bread (if you like), and dulce de leche and jam. The building feels secure – the front door has a numerical code, and each dorm space has a chest to store your stuff; bring your own lock. The WiFi worked every time. Finally, Viella, the owner and manager, runs a tight yet relaxed ship.

I really liked this little hostel... The character was quite something with Gardel the duck, the half-open kitchen which extended into the courtyard, never-ending collection of herbs to help those culinary experts! The staff were very helpful and the extra touches at breakfast were appreciated going that little bit further than most other hostels. The secure system of having a key-coded door also a great idea, providing more liberty with comings and goings.

Hostel is good, nothing special, but a good hostel.

Nice little hostel with very good breakfasts (with real coffee - in Chile!). The owner does have some interesting rules, most of which are more amusing than bothersome. Also, the duck will bite you if you speak to him in English.

A very clean and organized hostel. The staff is polite and helpful and we receive lots of information about the city and tourist attractions when we book a room.

Loved the communal system for kitchen odds and ends, like herbs and oil, as well as the fresh herbs out the back. Also good recycling and waste minimisation. Only down side was number of toilets/showers, one male and one female for 16 people.

Very good hostel, close from the town center. Only problem is that if someone turn on the water, the shower gets cold. The owner is trying to find an ecological solution to this problem, such as solar panels.

I liked the environmentally-conscious atmosphere. Sweet patio, instruments to jam on, helpful staff, and 1 minute from the supermarket. Only downsides were not enough bathrooms, and that god damned duck that kept biting me :) Even though the hostel is close to the supermarket, you have to go to the fish & farmer's market by the river. Unbeatable quality and prices.

A great space to stay, although I didn't like the bathrooms there very much, but everything else is perfect.

The best hostal in Chile ever! The lady that runs the place(Viella) was the most friendly lady in my hole trip! They are really clean, have good dorms, the breakfast is amazing and they have a duck! They are located really near from a supermarket and the Mall. Arriving there, ask Viella some tips to look in Valdivia, she can tell every good thing to do there!
