Location is great if you have a car and want to disconnect from the world, or if you only go to sleep. Is very far away from any big town so make sure to take all the food you need with you, as the next shop is about 12 miles from there and there are no buses around. The hostel itself is cool, is a big house with big lounge rooms and kitchen and also a sauna. Is very clean also and peaceful. I guess the worst part is that there is no wifi and you don't have any signal there either...

Glad you enjoyed your stay. Buses and trains come to Roy Bridge which is 2 miles from the hostel and we offer a pick up service. The nearest Spar shop is 5 miles away and is open till 20:00 in the winter, 22:00 in the summer. There is wi-fi ,but it is not fast and not a strong signal. This encourages greater interaction with other guests and a good opportunity to disconnect as you observed!

It was a remote but beautiful place, I liked it a lot. Rooms were nice and friendly (and warm!) the kitchen pleasant and hosts very friendly. It is not far from Fort William and several attractions of this area in easy reach, also Cairngorms is not far to travel if you want - so a good location I think. One does need a car though.

Good value for money, clean, but quite gloomy and cold.

The lady running the hostel is very friendly and accommodating. The shower had excellent power and the facilities seemed pretty good for a hostel and the cost. The only thing that might be useful is a lock on the door (we were in a four bed room so had the whole room). Unfortunately we were woken by some loud and inconsiderate travellers, but the hostel can't really do anything about that.

Beautiful location , in the middle of nowhere ,yet easy to find, quiet and calm. Awesome place to stay outside Fort William. The owner was lovely and helpful. Nice places to walk around too. Good memories to bring back home :)

Awesome! Great location if u have a car, no security as no locks at the doors but you can trust and no food but great facilities (kitchen, pots, big tables, dining-room)...

Delighted that you enjoyed your stay and thank you for the positive feedback.

Good location and friendly staff and a real sense of warm, communitarian living. Travellers unable to embrace this tone, coupled with the necessary expectations for facilities that match the price would be better advised to try a Travelodge instead! Security is premised on the 'Out here? Miles from anywhere' ethos so may prove a culture shock to townies like me. My advice is leave room in your boot or keep valuables with you.

Thank you for your feedback. We would be mortified if we were like a travel lodge. Hostels are all about talking and sharing which I think you enjoyed.

A good accommodation for a fair price.

Not for me. Location is misleading, much better options closer to Fort William for comparable prices. Good if you're looking for bare minimum and cheap but I think you can find better.

The hostel keeper was very helpful and accommodating. We are not frequent Hostel-stayers so some of our expectations may be due to our ignorance. There was no lock on our door so if all of us left the room we had to carry our valuables with us. We didn't know there wouldn't be towels available, even for an extra fee, so we couldn't shower unless we wanted to drip dry. Bathrooms reasonably clean but smelled strongly of urine. Beds uncomfortable, sheets clean but very pilled so they felt gritty.

We regret this family did not enjoy their stay. Our hostel is very secure. We have been here for 24 years and live on site. We have towels for hire if only we had been asked. It is hard to satisfy all guests as far as comfort of beds go but we are in the process of upgrading ours. The bedding in the room commented upon is new and is not pilled. We strive to keep our hostel clean ,but it is a fact that some guests are more considerate than others when using the facilities.

Great room, reasonable price.

The floor in showers is very cold, probably wooden-plastic trays would protect visitor's feet from cold. Everything is brilliant in hour guest house. Thank you. You have done a good job!
