Excellent location in Getsemani, a great quarter with a very nice atmosphere. Close enough to everything at walking distance. Several places for breakfast, lunch and fun in the same block or 1 block away. New bathrooms, very clean. Air conditioning and fan. I am familiar to 4 and 5 stars hotels but capable of traveling also like a backpacker and stayed there four nights with my daughter on a cheap-plan trip and am absolutely satisfied.

The hostel did not have our reservation upon arrival. We were traveling with two small children and arrived at night so we would not have to go door to door with them so this was a big deal. They did manage to give us a room, but it was with one less bed than we reserved and they refused any discount. The air conditioner did not function and the beds were very hard. We moved on after the first night.

This hostel is awesome. The facilities are cleaner and better then he hotels i stayed at in Cartagena. The owners and management are so friendly and helpful. They speak fluent english and will even socialize with guests and have a beer with you. I was truly blown away by their hospitality and friendliness. Definitely recommend anyone this place.

Great new hostel with brilliant private rooms. More like a boutique hotel than a hostel. Not really much in the way of meeting other people though however its in a great spot for a good price and nice, clean, very comfortable rooms. The air conditioner is a serious plus. And the guy behind the desk is super cruisy and helpful.

Akel House is a great little, brand new, clean hostel in the Getsamani area. Great if you looking for a quite place in the heart of where the back packer action is.
