room size was Abit small. Aircon wasn't really working well. It was turned on, but wasn't cold at all. With no thermostat to control temperature.

Lockers are very small, couldn't fit my laptop or camera. You have to bring your own lock, and the metal bit that held your lock could have easily been snapped off, old and basically useless. Rooms without AC are quite warm, obviously. Staff just tried to sell me tours as soon as I got there, and didn't speak much English. Overall, a mediocre stay. I was quite happy after I moved to a different hostel for the same price.

Owner Comment (Show)
We are very sorry for the unhappy experience u have in our place and thank you for ur comment, we will try our best for better improvement. pls also allow me to clarify some issues: 1. The lockers are protected by CCTV 24hrs and with staff on duty. 2. To use guest own lock is more secure to guest as we don't have any access to the locker. If anyone have the key for the locker then it won't be safe any more for u. 3. If u need to keep a bigger items like laptop, we do have a bigger locker behind the reception which is taking care and lock by our staff and protected by CCTV 24hrs as well. U may just request the receptionist to do so. All lockers are free of charge. 4. Room without aircond have fan. We can't control the weather as it is too hot recently. 5. All our receptionist speak English, only one of our cleaner can't speak well as low education. 6. Normally we will inform the guest we do provide tour information and we give advise before they go out to buy more expensive tour as we know better the local agency which provided better service and better price. However, guest are the one who decide after compare the prices outside. We just want to give a convenient to our in house guest.

The rooms with just a fan are really hot. Pillows are hard as a rock. If you want to visit the Sunday market, which I would recommend, this is a really good location. No power points in rooms, so have to use the common room. Breakfast is simple but at least it's there. Toast with jam, noodles and coffee/tea. You can book tours at the hostel, but most of the time there doesn't seem to be a price difference with other places/online. Free internet is good.

The location is really excellent! it's directly in Gaya street where u can easily reach to some famoys local food, supermarket, bank, money exchange, etc. What's more, its only 5mins walk to a platform on seaside where u can check the beautiful sunset out! It's really worthy to stay, and I will definitely choose here again for my next stop by!

Really nice hostel, good location in the centre of KK with lots of food options and shops around. Great place to meet other travellers and plan to hike Mt Kinabalu (don't buy the packages from the hostel, rather team up with people and go directly to the Kinabalu Park and buy permits there). The only downside is just 1 power socket per dorm of 5 and somewhat busy showers / toilets.

We stayed in this hostel for 5 nights. As a whole, we enjoy our stay very much. Staff is helpful. When we first arrived there for check in, they did care about our plan and stay in Sabah and offered us some tourist packages! That's really help save money and time! Indeed, the location is quite good. On Sunday, just go down and u will find the Sunday market. At night, it s so easy to find places to stay and eat. Just one thing, the internet is not stable at night. Guess because of lots of users?!

Nice and clean hostel with a great common area, but nearby there is a grabage station so the open area smells sometimes. Besides, I can recommend this accomodation.

Really nice hostel with super friendly and helpful staff. The hostel was really cosy and had a great atmosphere. The rooms were a bit small so wouldn’t recommend staying in the dorms with only a fan; add a little and you get air-con. Overall, great stay!

A nice atmospheric place in a good location near the Sunday market and other attractions. Rooms pretty basic but common areas were very comfy with sofas, lots of light, and good wifi. So especially nice place if you want to meet fellow travellers. Breakfast is basically toast only. Would go again.

the wifi works perfectly even in the room. its very clean and nice. my only concern is that the dorm room i stayed at doesnt have a window so its dark all the time. if you dont like this then dont stay in akinabalu. otherwise, its a perfect place in a perfect location and very clean.

The hostel forgot to wake me up at 3:30AM. Fortunately, I did wake up by myself, otherwise I would definitely miss my flight. And the sourrounding is too noisy.

Great location, friendly and helpful staff, wonderful common room. The breakfast was a bit disappointing, though. Only one real complaint: at 1130pm one night, when 4 of us were sound asleep, the staff came into our room and flipped on all the lights, waking all of us. We had a new roommate, and I understand that she wanted to show him the room, but there has to be a better way to handle the situation. Otherwise, great stay, would rec to others.

I like the public area they create, very cozy and relaxed. The only suggestion is the blanket need to be changed, the color already become black and not good for skin, a white simple cloth would be better than a blanket.
