The staff was very welcoming and nice. It has a really old feel to it. NO AC, very hot at night. No breakfast, coffee machine down stairs hardly worked. Location is great, easy to find with the sign over head. a little expensive, but its venice... every where is expensive. Would recommend.
Nice, cozy place. A bit far from San Marco square buy within walking distance. The facilities are good and there is air conditioner which is a godsend in Venice during the summer. It's a cheap, good place to stay. I recommend it.
We waited in front of the door for almost ten minutes before someone came to reception to unlock the door to let us in. We then received news that the private room we had booked was not available for use and we would have to stay in a different room for the first night. A knock on our door in the morning told us to pack up and walk down the street to completely different hotel. We were charged for having breakfast there because we booked under a different hotel even though we stayed in that one.
It was an awesome and quaint place right in the middle of Venice! Needed a little help finding the place but a phone call was all it took and they came to help right away! And the room felt like something right out of the renaissance, like a time machine!
The location is absolutely a plus. A lovely and calm area, not crowded of tourists; you will hear basicly italian and not just english. The Campo Santa Margaritha is incredible at the evening, to have a drink or eat a slice of pizza. The hostel itself is OK for the price, but in fact there are two different places, I guess: the one with the lovely pictures at the profile and a big appartment with a shared bathroom with dampness stains and spacious rooms with not very clean walls (mine at least).
Extremely quiet, even as small hotels go, but it is clean and quaint. Definitely not going to meet other travelers if you stay here, but it's a clean, quiet, and safe place to stay. Expensive for what you get since it's very basic, but I guess it is Venice.
The hotel is located pretty close to the railway station, which is a plus. However, the rooms and public areas are not clean and the walls are so thin, we could actually hear our neighbour's phones' "low battery" signals. The mattresses are also pretty weird. But since it is more than twice cheaper than any other hostel in the area, I guess we shoud've expected that. It's acceptable value for money and the staff was pretty nice and helpful.
Location is close to both the train and bus stations. It's great if you have early morning flights out of Venice--makes getting to the airport very easy. Facilities were basic. I was able to get a single room for a reasonable price. Wifi is free and works well. Location is a little far from San Marco Square (20 min walk) but I would stay here again!
