Al Gallo was in a great location, walkable to anything in Venice. Had a great stay and would recommend.
This place isn't fancy but it's very charming, and free espresso is available in the lobby.
When we arrived the hotel, the receptionist was not on his desk and we had to wait got him for half an hour, and he even did not apologize for this. all in all, the room was good and location is almost perfect.
The staff was very welcoming and nice. It has a really old feel to it. NO AC, very hot at night. No breakfast, coffee machine down stairs hardly worked. Location is great, easy to find with the sign over head. a little expensive, but its venice... every where is expensive. Would recommend.
Nice, cozy place. A bit far from San Marco square buy within walking distance. The facilities are good and there is air conditioner which is a godsend in Venice during the summer. It's a cheap, good place to stay. I recommend it.
We waited in front of the door for almost ten minutes before someone came to reception to unlock the door to let us in. We then received news that the private room we had booked was not available for use and we would have to stay in a different room for the first night. A knock on our door in the morning told us to pack up and walk down the street to completely different hotel. We were charged for having breakfast there because we booked under a different hotel even though we stayed in that one.
