Don't let the fact that you have a ten minute walk into the center of Guanajuato deter you from staying at this very nice and comfortable hostel. The staff were very friendly and everything was exceptionally clean. It's located in a relatively quiet residential section of town. I was the only person in the 8 bed dorm for the two nights I was there. Great internet connection, too.
The coffee maker was left on until i turned it off at 2am; could be a fire danger; people were banging on the door late at night because they didnt have a key the womens washroom off the dorm was very nice; dorm felt crowded overall the hostel was more modern than the others i;ve seen and clean; but quite lax one day breakfast was made but not the next;
The staff is very friendly and helpful. While the hostel is a 10-15 minute walk to the historic center I was comfortable walking it all day and during the evening. Taxis are frequent and inexpensive if you're traveling alone and nervous. The road noise in the dorms at the front can get very loud but the other rooms seem to be ok. The bathrooms and kitchen are very clean and water provided. I took ill while I was there and found the wifi to be excellent as I recovered.
very pretty hostel, location isn't bad - it's further out then some but nothing is very far away in Guanajuato. was very, very quiet... barely saw anyone else at the hostel. rooms were clean, big lockers but not enough for 1 per bed (didn't matter as there weren't enough to fill the room anyway), nice big bathroom and good kitchen. staff speak relatively good english.
Hostel is a bit far from the city center, but it is an easy walk and you get to see the more residential side of Guanajuato. As a traveler, I like to see the normal routine of people, so I quite liked that. The beds were comfortable. However, the location is on an intersection, so it can be quite noisy at night (due to traffic and church bells=. There is also only one bathroom (with a shower) per room. So, it can be a bit frustrating if you are staying in an 8 ppl room.
Didn't use them because they didn't respect the website terms. I got an email requesting the full payment to hold my room. I could either go to a Mexican bank and deposit it, or enter all my credit details in an email... it just didn't feel right.

Great hostel, it is a bit far away from the City center, but it is worth it!
Price too high for a room that was not that good. A hotel could have been a better choice, we booked a private room and several things were broken (hangers, door handle etc.). Staff was not extremely friendly.
Very nice place to stay, I would return and stay there again. You have to walk a little to get to the center. For me it was suitable to walk a little to find out interesting places in the city. The owners/staff is very nice and are very helpfull in case you look for something special (shops, bus stations etc). Hotsel is very nice decorated in a Mexican style. Kitchen is very good equipped with the thins you need to cook your meal. Very nice terrace to chill while enjoying the view.
