Alaska Backpackers Inn

Alaska Backpacker's Inn is Anchorage's newest backpacker's hostel. We are located in Downtown Anchorage only a few minutes walk from all that downtown has to offer. We are right around the corner from the train station and Alaska direct bus. We offer the best value for your money in a clean, safe, fun and sociable environment. Save money to go on tours, backpack, hike, or whatever works for you! This is the perfect place to start your Alaskan Adventure.

The hostel consists of four buildings. The Backpackers Inn (blue building in pics) that contains 80 beds broken in small dorms (No more than 4 beds per dorm) and private rooms (shared bathrooms). Private rooms include cable TV (80 channels plus showtime) and Micro-fridges on each room. 2 shares have micro fridges as well. Other facilities include cable TV in a large common area which also has a Foosball table and vending machines, reading room, kitchen, lots of clean spacious shared bathrooms and much more.

Last summer we took on the challenge of providing more private rooms due to the high demand. So we added our Backpackers Annex buildings (two yellow building on pics) down the road. We are now providing more private rooms in this building with the difference that these rooms only share one bathroom and one small kitchenette with one other room. So this rooms cost $5 more but offer extra privacy. Unlike other hostels we also added suites to our mix. We now have full one bedroom private suites with full kitchens and bathrooms.

All rooms have their own thermostat to control the heat and fans and other amenities are available upon request.
