We had such a nice stay here that we decided to extend our stay by one night. Very clean, Javi, Naty and Pame were all brilliant hosts. Very nice feel to the hostel, very similar to a ski chalet. Rooms were always warm and were cleaned daily. Breakfasts were also good. Only downside to the hostel is the location. It is a good 20 minute bus journey to the centre and also 20 minutes to the Circuito Chico bike route. However, this means the hostel is very quiet and calm, which was perfect for us.

We loved Alaska Hostel! Javi and Naty were amazing hosts and had great recommendations for restaurants, things to do, money exchange, and so on. We adored our time at Alaska Hostel - best hostel experience yet and we would recommend this place to anyone going to Bariloche.

The hostel is super nice, and the welcoming owners take a really care of it, and are very arranging. You can't go wrong in this chalet-style place. (+ perfect wifi, homemade bread, warm beds and towels, etc..) Only the location could be a reason to hesitate, as it is not in the city center. But it makes the hostel a very quiet place, 5 minutes from a nice beach, even better! Still easy to access with the bus, and there's a map right next to 7.5km bus station, to find you way to the hostel.

The hostel was nice and cozy and inviting to sit around and talk with people or just hang out. We really enjoyed the warmth of the place and the net was pretty fast. Downsides: quite far away from the city center, it was difficult to tell when to get off the bus, and we ended up walking quite a bit, and the neighborhood around the hostel is dark and a bit scary at night with all of the barking dogs (you don't know if they're friendly or not). The owners are rarely around and you have to ring :-(

Lovely little hostel. Warm and inviting. Great value for money. Location is great and think people are put off as they don't understand the logistics of Bariloche. The town is cool but everything you want to do there is out of town. We loved it there wish we'd stayed longer.

We stayed here in March and were very badly robbed. Somebody broke into our room via the window and stole two of our bags. While the owners were really upset by this and tried to help us out we were really disappointed that the very next day the two big windows next to the front door were left open. Anybody could have walked in through the windows especially as the owners were rarely in the actual hostel. Showed a lack of duty to the security of guests. A shame as we'd enjoyed our stay til then.

What a fantastic place! From the moment the owners and hosts Naty and Xavi welcomed us and gave us an in depth orientation of the city we knew we had chosen the right place. Large kitchen with a huge selection of equipment, Hot showers and comfortable beds, information booklets and assistance with booking tours and onwards travel arrangemetns are at hand. Fantastic place to socialise and meet people only a short distance from Supermarkets and shops and a 15min Bus ride from centre!

Just outside the city centre, easily accessible via bus (must buy bus card in town and put credit on it) you'll need the bus to get around no matter what. This hostel is quiet and beautiful, the owners Naty and Xavier are wonderful. They can literally plan your stay, excursions and trip for you. Amazing people. The hostel offers, shared dorms, lock up cabinets, or privates w/ shared bath or privates w/ ensuite. I highly recommend the place;a must destination in Bariloche.

We had a great time at Alaska Hostel the staff were great and the kitchen was amazing. The location is right next to the bus stop so its easy to get around. PLEASE dont get too comfortable, i know the town seems safe and quiet but please lock your windows even if you are in the basement and keep the usual caution that you would have anywhere else in South America.

Quite possibly my favorite hostel in all of Argentina. The location is ideal, as the center of town is not the charming part of Bariloche and Alaska is on the way to all of the sites you'll be visiting. The staff could not be sweeter, and are always willing to offer you advice, help point you in the right direction or have a chat. Perfect place to meet other travelers... just book already! You won't regret it.

It's hard to say anything negative about this hostel: adorable wooden cabin 4 blocks from the beach. When i first got in the owner Javi let me put my stuff down and make myself comfortable before checking in. Then he sat me down and gave me a very good run-down of the hostel and all the activities available to me. The kitchen was wonderful, spacious and well equipped. The rooms had individual lockers and hot water. Perfect atmosphere: social but not party. Awesome hostel!

We really enjoyed our stay here. Sweet and helpful owners. It has a great location for exploring all the sights around Bariloche. Cozy atmosphere. Not much else to say. The doubleroom was probably the best we had so far in our travels.

A nice comfortable hostel as a good place to base yourself for doing activities during the day. Breakfast is basic and wifi doesn´t always work, but generally a nice place to stay.

Extremely friendly welcome upon arrival. Owners gave us a 15min low-down of the area and talked it through with us on a map which was great! Very trustworthy people that allow you to drink freely from the fridges that contain alcohol providing you jot your name down on the list. Hostel is VERY clean and the room I was in was nice and cool (ideal during the summer). The bed sheets and linen were of a higher quality than your typical hostel stay. Kitchen facilities were magnificent.

Sundeck chairs under the trees provided welcome relieve on hot afternoons. Out of town but buses worked well. On the way to many tourist activities. Colleen. Australia
