We really recommend this hostal. Our planing was to stay there for two days, but it was so nice and beautiful, so we extended and stayed there in total eight nights. You feel like at home, there is a huge kitchen, a comfortable living room and the atmosphere is very warmly. The both owners are really friendly and helped us with every need. The location is perfect for all the trekking tours. It's closer to the national park than staying direct in the city. We enjoyed our time there so much!

I've had a wonderfull time in Alaska Hostel. Beautiful place, grate staff and a delicious breakfast with home made bread. I felt at home!!!

Nice livingroom upstairs but the dorms and private rooms in the basement are awefull. It always smells like gas and the bathroom in the basement is completely full of mold. The location is also not the best. You need at least 15 minutes by bus to the City centre.

We offered you to change room if you didnt like the one you´d booked, but you didnt even checked another. If you were dissapointed with the location, you´d better check comments on the web and choose hostels for location and not prices. I gave you a map and explained everything you can do in BRC for half an hour and you never mentioned any trouble with the hostel or it location, so i dont understand why did you stay here anyway.

loved my stay in alaska hostel!!! planned to stay 4 nights but ended up staying 9! Although a bit outside the actually city, its location is really nice half way between the touristy downtown and el curcuito chico. the staff is really friendly and helpful. after check in, they will tell you everything about Bariloche and offered activities and help you with the bookings. the kitchen is big and well equipped. all in all highly recommendable

The hostel was really nice and the staff really helpful at any time. It is also well located by the lake inbetween the town and excursions places. I would definitely recommend this place!

Booked for 2 nights and ended up staying a week. The homemade bread for breakfast was excellent as were the kitchen facilities. The staff were really friendly and give you a great orientation of bariloche and explanation about buses etc

Really enjoyed the hostel. Owners were really helpful and friendly and the atmosphere was excellent.

Very nice hostel, located in a green part of Bariloche, next to the lake and the beach, not very close from the center, but for this reason it is just perfect. The atmosphere is warm and the stuff it is very helpful in giving any kind of information you might need. Very well equipped kitchen. Good value for money. I absolutely recommend this hostel.

The best kitchen we have ever used in a hostel. Selfmade bread for breakfast - great! The staff and the owner are very very helpful and friendly. Alaska hostel is not located in the city center of Bariloche, what is great, because it is nearer to all the outdoor activities and more silent. We would definitly come back to this hostel. We enjoyed our time there and felt like home with our family! Thanks!

Good hostel with well equipped kitchen and lots of dvds! Bit far from the centre.

The best I've stayed in, in Agentina, and I've stayed in 9 or 10. It has the right balance between homeliness and quality of service which many hostels fail to get right - often being to big and impersonal or under-equipped. Alaska is perfect and offers everything you'd expect in a hostel and more. The location is not an issue as the buses are frequent - in fact it is closer to the trekking and skiing than the central hostels. Not only this, but it was half the price than the others at the time.

Nice place, with friendly helpful staff. A couple of booked days turned into many more. 7.5 km away from town but easily accessible by bus. This was one of the reasons for choosing it, but something to bear in mind, if not. Average breakfast, but with better coffee.
