A large 3 stove kitchen with two sinks, finally a kitchen that everyone can use at once. Staff was very helpfull telling in telling us the good things to do and how to get there. It is located outside of the main town so a reloadable bus pass is required to go just about anywhere. (Alaska Hostel has some for sale)

Friendly and helpful staff and a cool looking place but our double room was super small. The stairs and super creaky and the bathrooms could be cleaner but the overall feel is good. Good kitchen and internet throughout.

Hi , what a pity you didnt tell me about the cats while you were at the hostel cause i could have solved it right there. Greetings Javi

A charming hostel. A good size, well looked after, comfortable and the staff are great. Overall it delivers a good vibe that matches well with experiencing Bariloche properly. The location is fine, getting buses is easy enough and helps to see the broader area of Bariloche. The town area of Bariloche is too commercial anyway and staying in town would give the wrong impression of the area.

Great hostel with frendly and helpful staff. Stayed in a double room that was on the small size however the atmosphere was so relaxed and fun here that we spent little time in the room. Located half way between the national park and the town it has good bus connections to both. Much better than staying in Barliloche town itself as it has a great outdoor country feel to it. The owners are great and the kitchen and wifi facilities good. Would thoroughly recommend.

Its located close to the main beach and its pretty easy to take busses to the centre of Bariloche. For location would definitely recommend it. We visited the centre only once and it was new years day so pretty much everything was closed but it seemed not to be anything special. staying here you will be closer to the national parks and other attractions. Nice place.

This is the must stay place in Bariloche, outside of the town but closer to the mountains, playas and Llao Llao. Naty, Javier and Luca are the perfect owners, they know everything about the local area and are very friendly. Javis homemade bread for breakfast is the perfect start to the day. We loved it so much we left and came back later in our trip for a few more days. Great garden with deckchairs for sunbathing and sleeping!

Rarely do I write reviews for hostels, but Alaska Hostel was just fantastic! Javi and Nati were amazingly helpful AND they buy a bus card for you to ensure you get the VERY inexpensive bus fares which is super helpful!! I ended up staying a week because it was just so comfortable! The location is closer to all the main activities as well, and much better than staying in town!!

The perfect place to stay in Bariloche! Although further from the centro area, it´s closer to all of the major attractions (Cerro Campinario, Circuito Chico, etc.). We stayed in the double room with private bath. Very spacious and comfortable. BEST kitchen in South America, super clean, fully stocked, and multiple stove tops, ovens, and sinks. Javier welcomed us in and treated everyone like family. He also booked us an awesome rafting trip. Great atmosphere, would definitely return!

Alaska was the best hostel we stayed in two months south america! Though the rooms are very basic, the staff and the atmosphere are amazing. The owner, Javi, is very very sweet and helpfull, he will tell you everything you need. Even the dogs and the cats are the sweetest. We hate cooking in hostels, cause most of the time its dirty and stinking. Over here it was a party to cook! It is a bit far from center, but in the area there is everything you need (supermarket, bus stop, restaurants etc)

Totally recommended, Nati and Javi are backpackers themselves and the best hosts you'll find, the Alaska is THE place I would go back to if I had more days in Argentina. Really good atmosphere, beautiful view from the front terrace, beach 5min away (freezing lake water! Don't be put off by the not-exactly-city-center location, it's actually nearer to the activities you'll be doing. Buy 2 one-way tickets at the bus terminal, you'll need the 2nd when you leave

Without question the best hostel we have stayed in during a 3 month trip in South America. The hostel is very comfortable, nicely decorated and it is perfectly located for enjoying all Bariloche has to offer. The owners are fantastic, relaxed, helpful and bloody lovely. The kitchen was so good it had 3 cookers and everything you need... down to a blender. It's also close enough to plenty of restaraunts and a supermarket. Transport connections are good - close and regular. AMAZING HOSTEL!

Really enjoyed the stay at the hostel. The hostel is a bit outside town so more quiet which we liked but easy to take the bus into town if needed. There is a good supermarket a short walk from the hostel and the hostel has good kitchen facilities. The owners live across the street and they were extremely helpful giving information about the area as well as specific tours /places to visit as well as how to get there. We felt like this hostel was a home away from home.

The Alaska Hostel was one of the nicest places we have stayed over the past 5 months of travelling in South America. Nati, Javi & baby Luca took great care of us, and made us feel right at home in their cosy ski-lodge type hostel. We spent one night in a dorm, and 3 nights in a double room, both of which were very warm and comfortable, and well set up for backpackers - eg lots of hooks on the walls, individual reading lamps and spacious lockers in the dorms. Great wi-fi. Good kitchen.Reccomended

Don't be put off by the fact it is out of town, it is actually much closer to the activities that you will be doing. Nati and Javi who run the place are fantastic and very helpful. Place has great character, close to public transport and spotlessly clean. I have travelled for 6 months now (through europe and south america) and this is probably the best hostel I have been to (rivalled only by Cinnamon in Budapest)
