very friendly and chilled out owners. loved the coziness of the place, planned to stay for 2 days but ended up staying here for a week. the location is great to get away from the centre of Bariloche and close enough to everything you need. would recommend this place to anyone.

We thoroughly enjoyed the time we spent at the hostel. Naty and Javi were extremely helpful and welcoming when we arrived. The rooms were very clean, and breakfast was great. The games and common area also allowed to easily connect with other guests.

Very nice and helpful owner. Good kitchen for cooking. If you book the double room, get the one with ensuite bathroom as it has lots of space and a nice bathroom (the other one is really tiny, the shared bathrooms are not that great).

Hi, that´s way the small room is so cheap...

I stayed here way too long! I was at Alaska Hostel back in March. The coffee here was some of the best in South America, and Javi's homemade bread is ridiculously addictive. The kitchen space is AMAZING. There were multiple stoves which meant people could cook at the same time. The only negative -- in the double room I was sharing on the bottom floor, I could hear everything going on above. Not the hostels fault, but bring earplugs if noise bothers you. :)

Javi was amazingly helpful with all questions and suggestions for planning day trips around Bariloche. He really took the time to make us feel comfortable. Thank you!

Positives: The host was excellent, very informative, easy going and wiling to help. When you arrive into a town, its very useful to have someone take the time to give you a rundown of the sights, things to see and things to look out for. Negatives: though the hostel has a good vibe and a kitchen, it was not very clean. The floors was full of dust and dirt, but worse of all the bedding smelt damp (i.e. smelt as if it had not been dried properly). We left the hostel with our clothes smelling!

Owner Comment (Show)
Hi , if you had told us about the bedding we would have changed it right there. It was something we could solved while you were staying here, not 3 days after you´ve left.

In the swiss alpine disneyland that is bariloche this hostel is an absolute gem - bags of character, a great vibe and facilities - it has everything a traveller is looking for. Javi and his wife are great hosts and make you feel completely welcome and are a fantastic source of information to help you plan your activities in the area whatever your interests. Its location is the best bit - 7km out of town equals 7kms closer to the national park. I wouldn't stay anywhere else in Bariloche

Hi, You booked the bunked beds private not a double room with double bed! And as we know is small you only payed one more dolar as if you take a bed in dorm

A bit out of town but don't let that deter you, towns not all that anyway! This place is in a peaceful neighbourhood with the beach not far. Easy to get bus wherever you want to go. The owners here are probably the friendliest I have encountered so far in South America. Take a walk 1km up the road to boliche de alberto, possibly the best steak I've ever had. All in all a great little hostel with tOnnes of character

Javi and the rest of the staff were all so helpful. The asado is one of the best I've had in Argentina! I would definitely stay at the Alaska Hostel again, and would recommend it to anyone.

Nice friendly atmosphere good place to meet people. The rooms and bathrooms were lovely and clean. It seems like it´s far from town but it´s really easy to travel on the bus and it´s in between the town and all the hikes so i think it´s a good location really. The guy at the hostel will give you a bus card with money already on it which is really handy. There´s a big supermarket near by

A large 3 stove kitchen with two sinks, finally a kitchen that everyone can use at once. Staff was very helpfull telling in telling us the good things to do and how to get there. It is located outside of the main town so a reloadable bus pass is required to go just about anywhere. (Alaska Hostel has some for sale)

A really great place to stay and felt like home. Thanks Javi, Naty & Tiago for making me feel so welcome and like a part of the family. Close to the beach, lots of films to watch.....I'm sure it's all been said before but I really felt comfortable there so thanks very much :) Good luck in everything x x

Fantastic hostel outside the center of town. It\'s the best place I\'ve been on this trip. Great staff, wonderful chill room and kitchen. Yummy honey at breakfast! Totally worth being outside of town. We loved it here. There\'s fast internet, good beds/sheets and large lockers for each person - bring your own lock and you\'re set. Oh yeah and towels are included!!!

Friendly and helpful staff and a cool looking place but our double room was super small. The stairs and super creaky and the bathrooms could be cleaner but the overall feel is good. Good kitchen and internet throughout.

A charming hostel. A good size, well looked after, comfortable and the staff are great. Overall it delivers a good vibe that matches well with experiencing Bariloche properly. The location is fine, getting buses is easy enough and helps to see the broader area of Bariloche. The town area of Bariloche is too commercial anyway and staying in town would give the wrong impression of the area.

Great hostel with frendly and helpful staff. Stayed in a double room that was on the small size however the atmosphere was so relaxed and fun here that we spent little time in the room. Located half way between the national park and the town it has good bus connections to both. Much better than staying in Barliloche town itself as it has a great outdoor country feel to it. The owners are great and the kitchen and wifi facilities good. Would thoroughly recommend.
