Alba Hostel Glasgow Reviews

This hostel is definitely value for money, is well located, just 10 min from city centre by train and 20 min from the main attractions in the west end on foot. The bedrooms and bathrooms are very clean, but I can't say the same about the kitchen, I think they should clean it better. The check in is quite late at 4pm, I'll change that, but in general it's a good place.

It is way too far out of town (3 miles). The dorms are ok but you can't lock the doors! Not cool if you've got valuables. Breakfast was 2 pounds and a joke. We were better of buying our own stuff. The staff wasn't very helpful (poor English as well). I've been to hostels where they passed along some inside tips where to go in town or what to do. The best thing: 2 pounds for storage! And no one was actually watching the luggage. Pure exploitation. Really no place I want to go back to.

Great place to stay. One of my favourites around the UK. Clean, tidy and relaxed. Helpful staff. Reception is only open for specific times of the morning and night so could not check in early. Very close to train station. Wetherspoons restaurant practically next door to the hostel.
