The external security (the monitoring of the door from/to the street) is excellent. In the room it would be much better if each of the metal storage cabinet doors had a small 'hasp & staple' added (using pop rivets, say) so that guests would be able to secure their things with a padlock. I have seen this easy modification made in other hostels, for instance in Barcelona.

The best thing about this hostel was the lovely staff! It doesn't have much of an atmosphere and in terms of location it's not far away from the city centre or the train station, although the walk to the train station can be a bit long if you're carrying a heavy backpack (and there's not really a good option for public transport). I didn't have any issues with the neighbourhood, in fact it's located right on a square where there's a really good restaurant.

Good location close to the city centre, rooms a bit small. Large dining and lounge rooms, though not much of an atmosphere (there may not have been many people around when I stayed). It includes breakfast, which is ok. The building is nice, next to a nice little square with a good restaurant (BiPolar). Staff were extremely nice, especially the lady who was working in the morning.

Staff were polite and efficient, good security, and it was based near a lovely church, with some of the rooms having great views of it. Good wifi, a nice light and airy kitchen area, and the building is lovely. Solid beds, good quality bedding, and it was kept clean. There seems to be a heavy police presence in the bars around the corner, literally every day for a week they were there, which I am not sure if it is good or bad(!!). Definitely not a party place, but it does the job very well.

Highly recommend, its a super nice hostel!! It's tidy and bright inside, and the location is perfect! Feel so relax and comfortable to stay there! I will definitely choose Alberg again for my staying in Barcelona next time!

the location is super in the center, the neighbeirhood did not look so good (but i had no problems...) the staff is nice. The food was soso, sometimes good, sometimes not so. There was not really a meeting place, to meet other people. The only thing i really did not like was the closing part between 3-8 and 5-8. specially with fallas, :D Ciao...

Can appear to be a little dodgy at night, having said that you just need to avoid the one street.

The hostel was very good and clean, definitely deserving the prize of rooms; staff was really kind. Shared computer didn't work (one not working at all, the other one very slow). You cannot come back from 5 to 8 a.m. in week end and from 3 to 8 in other days. Info about how to reach the hostel from the airport were lacking, not enough without a map. Overall, it is a very good hostel.

I like the view from the kitchen windows. Nice room, clean shower, beautiful reception hall and front door. A quiet corner on a small Plaza and also a SCOUTING meeting point ! Easy to reach from metro Angel-Guimerà. One old computer and another one that didn't work ( January 10 th) and a few choice at breakfast - but that is the Spanish way of starting the day. Yes, we would go back to that beautiful historic house !
