the staff is really efficient and nice
I spent great night, mainly due to abuse of Absinth with some Australians, but it was great!
Breakfast included was good. Staff not overtly friendly or welcoming. security could be better - larger lockers put in the actual rooms would improve this. Overall a very average hostel.
1. I Asked for directions on how to get to la tomatina. The lady at the desk was rather clueless, Her explanation was poor and her directions turned out to be completely wrong. 2. They ran out of towels to hire at reception. 3. Everything else was satisfactory and rooms were clean and bathrooms and toilets were clean.
Not a pleasant stay

This is a good hostel if you are just looking for a place to stay. The staff are friendly enough and the rooms are in a good condition. But it's a not very good place to stay if you are looking to meet people. They don't put on any sociable activities and the common room is quite bare. The staff aren't very helpful when it comes to offering information about the city. The manager was able to provide a map and circled an area where I would find "everything".

great location but thats it.. the place is new so the staff dont have much on and the place is a bit dull... the bathrooms are clean but locks are needed for the rooms... lots of hookers on the street of the hostel too. staff give u pathetic photocopies of maps you cant even see and they knew nothing about about a few basic things... the bunks are ALL linked together and so weak that u feel every move from the people on the top... but it was cheap during la tomatina so cannot fault the price.
Mixed feelings about this place. The location is truly amazing and great value for money. But the kitchen facilities aren't so great and the atmosphere was just okay. It was an alright stay but I'm not sure if I would stay again or look for somewhere that feels wamer/friendlier. I more stayed here just for La Tomatina
Good hostel. Only one shower for females in the whole building that I could find.. Good breakfast. Good location.
Good hostel, good location, would recommend
This hostel is pretty simple but it was a good value. I liked that there was air conditioning that my roommys and I could control from the room, free breakfasts, wifi that works every where in the hostel, and it´s in the center of town! I had a hard time finding it because there is no number on the building and NO ONE in town is familiar with the street. Also, the kitchen was a little inconvenient so dont plan on cooking easily. But otherwise it´s a good hostel for sure.
Nice place to stay for a reasonable price. They have included breakfast, simple but good enough to get you going until lunch!!
The external security (the monitoring of the door from/to the street) is excellent. In the room it would be much better if each of the metal storage cabinet doors had a small 'hasp & staple' added (using pop rivets, say) so that guests would be able to secure their things with a padlock. I have seen this easy modification made in other hostels, for instance in Barcelona.
The best thing about this hostel was the lovely staff! It doesn't have much of an atmosphere and in terms of location it's not far away from the city centre or the train station, although the walk to the train station can be a bit long if you're carrying a heavy backpack (and there's not really a good option for public transport). I didn't have any issues with the neighbourhood, in fact it's located right on a square where there's a really good restaurant.
Good location close to the city centre, rooms a bit small. Large dining and lounge rooms, though not much of an atmosphere (there may not have been many people around when I stayed). It includes breakfast, which is ok. The building is nice, next to a nice little square with a good restaurant (BiPolar). Staff were extremely nice, especially the lady who was working in the morning.
Staff were polite and efficient, good security, and it was based near a lovely church, with some of the rooms having great views of it. Good wifi, a nice light and airy kitchen area, and the building is lovely. Solid beds, good quality bedding, and it was kept clean. There seems to be a heavy police presence in the bars around the corner, literally every day for a week they were there, which I am not sure if it is good or bad(!!). Definitely not a party place, but it does the job very well.
Highly recommend, its a super nice hostel!! It's tidy and bright inside, and the location is perfect! Feel so relax and comfortable to stay there! I will definitely choose Alberg again for my staying in Barcelona next time!
the location is super in the center, the neighbeirhood did not look so good (but i had no problems...) the staff is nice. The food was soso, sometimes good, sometimes not so. There was not really a meeting place, to meet other people. The only thing i really did not like was the closing part between 3-8 and 5-8. specially with fallas, :D Ciao...
