More explicit directions from Genova Brignole train station on HostelWorld web site would be nice.

We had a great stay at Albergo Carola. The staff is extremely friendly and the hotel itself is cute, clean and very comfortable and super close to the trains station from where you need to take the train to Cinque Terre.

Even though I stayed only one night , I enjoyed the fact that they gave us the key and were not pressed to pay right away like in other hostels. It's very clean. Perfect for one night . It's pretty close to train station( genova brignole) The staff is very friendly and organized. At least this is what I observed. Highly recommended for short stays.

You really, really need to know some Italian or Spanish to stay here. The owner's daughter speaks English excellently, but she is not always there. Which leaves you with her father who mostly speaks Italian and Spanish. Look, our room was relatively basic, but by the end of the trip it felt like home. Clean, secure, free WiFi, free towels, and they made our bed every day. I enjoyed the Albergo Carola, and I would stay there again. A nice play for the price, definitely.

Pleasant family-run hostel in the proximity of Genoa's city centre. The only downside is that only 1 person among the staff speaks English.

Excellent hostel! Rooms were very clean and big (for a hostel)! The staff was incredibly nice, its a father daughter business, both of them very helpful. They showed us places to go in the city, good restaurants and gave us lots of free maps! We had to stay an extra night and they found us a room, they carried our luggage while we were in the city (with our permission) and let us pay at the end of the stay! It was, without a doubt, the best Hostel we've stayed in Europe! Congratulations!
