Only stayed 1 night, would not recommend. Chose due to close proximity to bus terminal (though the opposite way to town). Very basic hostel, rooms reminiscent of a cheap motel. Staff didn't speak English but were very friendly. No breakfast included. The whole place was very dark and gloomy, everyone seemed to stay in their rooms unless they sit in the dining room to eat (though we didn't stay long). Good security (in private rooms anyway) as you need to buzz in and have key to your room.

Basic hostel with nice, clean rooms. Basic breakfast. Hostel is very close to the bus station as well as the main street. Rooms didn't have screens on the windows, which was somewhat frustrating because the room was so hot so we had to have them open, but that let the bugs in.

We booked at Albergue Buenos Aires due to its proximity to the bus station in El Calafate....this was probably its best attribute. Our twin room was satisfactory, although not terribly inviting and our private bathroom was adequate at best . We were a little worried that the concave ceiling may fall in during the night. The staff were fairly helpful and breakfast was your usual bread and jam with tea or coffee. Not brilliant overall, but not terrible either.

Well located hostel sat behind the bus station, with nice clean rooms. The staff were friendly and helpful. The only downsides to this hostel are 1) there are only 2 bathrooms to be shared amongst the whole hostel which meant long waits and 2) the fridge had heaps of off / mouldy food in it from months previous - not sure what point is in naming and dating food if going to stay in there. Those aside and the hostel was pretty good.

Hostel was good, staff was ok, the location is just PERFECT, two blocks from the terminal, I had to take a bus at 3 a.m. and simply walked there without any problem. El Calafate is not huge anyway so it's only about 10 min walk from the main tourist road.

Nice hostel but nothing to write home about. Never saw the famous 'Carlos' who everyone talks about which was one of the appeals of coming here for such a welcoming host. No real communal area which I didn't think would matter but it does make the hostel have an empty feel to it. Overall cheap and cheerful.

The staff was helpful and kind although I never met this Carlos everyone raves about. There was absolutely nowhere to hang out and nowhere to put my belongings. Only 6 lockers for 8 people. It´s a walk from town and the bus station, but the good views and atmosphere are elsewhere. Stay at America Del Sur!

Great value for money. Excellent location. Seems to attract easy going people. Staff could be more friendly but overall I'd recommend this hostel.

Excellent location, extremely clean, no issue with noise, cost effective, and most importantly best customer service I have experienced throughout all of Argentina. Staff are eager to help and are warm and welcoming. Highly recommended!

We stayed in the dorm for the first time in awhile and were impressed with the cleanliness of the room. Lockers were provided. Kitchen was good but quite small and more than 2 people cooking made things difficult. Breakfast was good...our first toast for ages and we really enjoyed it and cereal aswell. Main downside was that there were only 2 showers and both had the toilets inside so had to wait for ages to go for a wee in the morning!!

Great hostel, but the walls are paper thin. Bring ear plugs if doors closing and people walking around keep you awake. Staff is friendly and WiFi works well.
