The hostel has an excellent location (next to downtown and bus station) and the stuff was very helpful and friendly. The cost-free breakfast was very good also. The room at the moment of my arrived was clean although the cleaning service or mantetion during my stay was deficient.

Great. Clean. Very very close to the bus terminal. Perfect to carry your luggage! Friendly staff. Large lockers. We had a room with a cute balcony. Small. Not the center of much typical backpackers, but great for a restful place, just a bit outside the main & busy street. There was a lots in their 40;s there for hiking the various places around, some mid-range tourist too. The staff go out of their way to make everything pleasant for you. I would go again !

Nice guy at front desk. Pretty basic hostel, though cheap. If you stay in the big dorm upstairs with the balcony overlooking the street, dont stretch your arms up as you might get electricuted by the telegraph wires as their very close to the balcony. A lot of flies in the kitchen

It's a pity that there aren't enough bathrooms. It also lacks a common area, so you end up staying in the kitchen. The owner's wife was absolutely lovely, but the owner himself was bordering rude and told me there were no beds available for me to stay one more night. The following day my other friends at the hostel told me the were two empty beds..Maybe someone cancelled at last minute, but I left with the feeling that it was because the owner didn't like me. Sounds silly, but he wasnt nice

Owner Comment (Show)
Dear guest: Thanks for your review! At the time you asked to stay an extra night, I said there was no availability, because we had a booking for those two beds. This is what we do for a living, so you can imagine that we do not like to have two empty beds during high season just because "we do not like" a particular guest. If I would know that these guests would "no-show", I would sell the bed to you. But if I told you that you will have to wait until 01:00 am (next day) to see whether this beds were available or not; I think you would not be happy either. If I would have the ability to predict the future; I would rather be surfing in Hawaii instead of answering your review...It is not my fault if you could not plan the duration of your stay forehand. Sorry about the toilets. And I am not the owner, by the way. Regards. Carlos

It was the right choice in El Calafate. Very helpfull staff. Near the Bus Station. Spartan breakfast, as in almost all other hostels in Argentina. The kitchen was great, but I think there should be a larger common area. I recomend it.

Staff is as friendly as it gets. Carlos is making this hostel into a great place to stay. Only thing we missed out on was a nice sitting room and a place to sit outside in the sun. But that's just minor details. Great value for money!

A wonderful place to stay in El Calafate Stayed on two separate occasions- staff are friendly, helpful and go out of their way to help All speak English The one place that we stayed in that actually encouraged patrons to throw their toilet paper into the toilet and NOT into the waste basket - WONDERFUL Coffee is available all day for free. Breakfasts are a cut above the norm - cereals, yogurt, toast, jam, coffee, tea, juice Is is clear that the owner, Carlos keep his hand firmly on the business

The most helpful, patient and considerate staff in any hostel I have ever stayed in, Carlos and Fernando deserve awards!

Small and smart hostel. Very clean, very quiet, bed was comfortable, excelent location close to terminal and center, staff are very nice and really helpfull and take you seriously, excelent wifi, nice breakfast, in kitchen you have all facilities+tables chairs and T.V so it is also a spot to meet people. Bottom line: very good value for money. I have been in this hostel 2 times. What to improve:though the computer runs the lovely Ubuntu it is a bit old and slow, and even 1 more could be nice.

It was a bit noisy, the walls are too thin and the sound travels through easily. People were talking loud until late and also any time they would enter their room was too noisy. But it was quite ok, not the best, but ok.

Excelente! In particular, the staff. Everyone was competent, courteous, and kind, especially the two young men who work there. I believe their names are Carlos and Fernando. The hostel is fortunate to have people of this calibre working for them.

My only complaint is perhaps to clean the fridge out more often and update the kitchen wear.

The 8 bed dorm is enough big to move around everybody. Also has a good balcony with two chairs to enjoy the quiet area. The staff is full at your service, and the owner give you all the detailed information about the activities you can do in the area. Good value.

The bunks in the dorm room are terrible - really wobbly & squeaky. The bathrooms aren't great either, both of them are "wet rooms" so you have to wipe the water down the drain after you shower. The staff are also never at the desk, the first hostel in South America where I've seen this. I think the main attraction of the hostel is simply that it's close to the bus station.

Good location but this hostel really needs to build some more toilets. Two toilets/ showers is definitely not adequate for the amount if rooms. It was very difficult when getting up for early tours. Also the staff were never at reception when we needed them. For the amount you pay or this hostel I do not think it is the best value for money.

The hostel is located less than 5 minutes from the bus station and around 5 minutes to the main road. The staff is really nice and helpfull and you can trust them completly in booking tours at their recommendation. The rooms are clean, the breakfast is as usual in hostels: tea, coffee, gem, dulce de leche.

Wow, a real down to earth hostel. Not a chain hostel, party hostel or gimmick. Carlos is hands down one of the most helpful and knowledgable guys Ive met. The breakfast is decent (in comparsion to the usual bread and dulche leche), and the beds are really clean and comfortable. The best part is that its really close to the bus station (1 min walk), especially if arriving late or departing early. Stay in Hostel BA and tell Carlos we said hello. Steve (ireland)
