The staff were all very helpful with all the questions we had. They also kept our packs secure for the rest of the day after we had checked out. All understood & spoke English. A fairly minor negative ~ There was no water or fruit juice at breakfast. There was a cold drink that tasted like diluted medicine, not sure what it was and we didn't taste anything like it in the other six places we stayed in Brazil. Apart from that, breakfast was fine.

Very(!) friendly staff, a little bit loud during the night and a not so nice a smell coming up from the shop on the ground floor, where, looking down, we actually could observe some rats. The location is great (from there you can catch a bus to almost any location of interest), the food (breakfast) of good quality and a rich variety.

The staff was very friendly and accomodating. As with any dorm situation in a hostel, atmosphere, bathroom cleanliness and security depend on the others sharing the room. The hostel provides lockers for smaller things, but not large enough for entire luggage. The location, although not on one of the popular beaches, is near a metro station. The subway is a quick, cheap ride to more desirable beaches. Overall, for a cheap, short term dorm stay it is a good deal.
