Was disappointed to find out that smoking is allowed in the common areas. There was what looked like mold in the dorm I was in, and some windows didn't close properly so nights were chilly. Didn't meet any English-speaking staff, but they were helpful nonetheless and very sweet.Was disappointed to find out that smoking is allowed in the common areas. Although we stayed out of season in this hostel I fail to see there is much to recommend it. The staff member we dealt with was close to useless (he needed to be asked 3 times within 10 minutes to phone us a taxi), and most of the time he couldnt be found at all. Not useful when you need to get your washing done for the next day. Although our room was nice the whole place seemed a bit dingy and foreboding. The bathroom bin was not emptied once during our stay- pretty gross in South America!Although we stayed out of season in this hostel I fail to see there is much to recommend it. It was lovely to stay in such a welcoming hostel and the staff are great. breakfast was excellent and the beds oh so comfy. When all the home fires were burning, we were all warm enough even when it was cold outside and the town has enough to entertain for a few days. would definately recommend. so cute puppies too!!!It was lovely to stay in such a welcoming hostel and the staff are great. breakfast was excellent and the beds oh so comfy. Warm welcome and warm fires in the evening. The downstairs internet/living area was freezing in the evening but the staff were excellent.
