The personal was very friendly and helpful and the breakfast was amazing. Only the room was a little dark and crowded, but what can you expect when there are 14 beds in one place.

It was a very good time in Vila Carioca. It was the second time I stayed there and i strongly recommend for other people that are going to Rio de Janeiro.

It´s a nice place to stay, with nice people. The things that they offer are good comparing with the Price you pay.

Exellent loctation in a calm and safe place near the beach. Lot of transport comunications, nice places in a walk distance. Nice and friendly staff, artistic atmosphere. Clean baths with soap and toilet paper. Good breakfast, useful kitchen, supermarket nearby. Maybe lack of space in the rooms, but common places are comfortable. Free WiFi in common places. My home in Rio! :)

We stayed in a 14 bed room with air con and an bathroom. The hostel was clean and the staff was helping us with questions we had, where or how to go somewhere. The breakfast at this hostel was realy great and all in all for Rio it was good value for the price we payed.

Great place to stay though there is not really a lot of space in the room and especially the bathrooms. Staff is very helpful.

Small basic facilities and quiet place, but it's a nice change from the party hostels. The lady on reception is lovely and will go out of her way to assist.

I was terribly sick for the 2 days i stayed there and initially just trying to get them to turn my aircon on was a hassle as apparently they don't turn them on untill 8-10pm. I stayed in a rooftop single bed dorm. Room was nice enough for what i paid for.. a little cramped but good value as far as im concerned :). Staff we're nice and it seemed like a hip, cool place to stay. The only gripe would be the rules around turning aircons on, although this seems common in Brazilian hostels.

I stayed at this hostel for over a month while in Rio and it became my second home. I can't say enough good things about this place and the staff, especially Paola, Pedro, Giuliana, Cynthia, Juan and Beatrice. Definitely the place to stay when in Rio!

We took a double room and we thought it was too small and the bad wasn't so comftorable. The facilities in the bathroom weren't good, there was no hot water and the shower had problems The hostel looks like a very good hostel for muchilers who sleeps in dorm but for a couple it isn't recommended The staff and the facilities in the lobby and the living room were very good.

Staff was very helpful and pleasant. Maybe we just expected a bit too much, but can´t quite understand the fairly good position in comparisons. Though, it was cheap compared to others, there was not such a carnival-addition as many others had. It was mainly two things that made our visit poor: 1. cleanliness, or the lack of it 2. bad luck with room (4 bed dorm with own entrance, filthy and very noisy) Good staff (thanks to them) made up for some of it, but overall exprnce was below avg.

The hostel has potential but it seems they are missing something... the atmosphere was a bit of a let down. Staff were hit and miss, some really great staff, and others were unapproachable. Rooms were cramped and lockers were tiny! But that doesnt really bother me so much as the lack of vibe...
