The female staff were very helpful however we arrived and the guy who greeted us was quite the opposite and did not share any useful information. We also left the hostel with a number of bites on us that we think were from insects other than mosquitos. The area felt safe but was lacking any local atmosphere.

The hostel has great location, near bars, restaurants, drugstores and the metro station. You can arrive to the beaches easily. The hostel is great but lacks some reform and cleaning, especially the metal stairs to the third floor and the common area. The breakfast runned out fast, so I had always to ask the staff to replace the food. We had also to wait until 14:20 to enter the room because it was said it was been cleaning, but then we verified it wasn't clean at all.

in a nice area of Rio and set back from the busy street...the hostel had a big common area which was great for relaxing or hanging out with other travellers, having a few drinks etc....it's near enough to walk to Sugar Loaf and well served by buses between Centro and the Zona Sul beaches, I enjoyed my stay, was a nice hostel.

The bathroom in the 12 bed dorm smells horribly like pee! The other reviews don't lie. The 12 dorm room is too small, smells soooo bad when the AC is turned on (moldy smell) and there is no place for people's luggage. You will not get any sleep in a 12 bed dorm! Someone is always coming or going. The lounge area is good and breakfast. You pay for towel and Internet. You make your own bed and everything.including pillow is covered in a plastic cover. Location is good. Don't book the 12 dorm room!

An affordable hostel but the 14bed room is too squeezy! There is almost no space for your personal belongings. Lockers are provided and location is pretty ok as it is minutes away from the metro station. However, it is not near the more popular beaches and hot water basically lasts for 3s. This hostel will be for you if you are tight on budget and don't have bulky belongings.

Nice place, underrated to my opinion. Facilities are the weakest part. Aircon being on only from 22-10. And when on, it is time for blanket. Fairly social and good value for money for Rio.

Great location with a relaxed atmosphere. Friendly & helpful staff who know the area well. The room I stayed in was clean with a fan and air con at night. Good breakfast too. Deffinetly recommend this hostel!

They have a lot of silly rules. Our room was advertised as with AC, but turns out this means only after 10pm, which made the small room unbearable during the day, and so we woke up hot. There is only wifi in the reception and they CHARGE for Internet! The toilets are very old and small with no hooks to put anything. The laundry bleached and ruined some of our clothes. The double room we stayed in was among the worst we've ever staid in. Right next to the metro and hostel had a good tv.

Good breakfast, good safe location, and all sought after facilities. We had to remind the reception each night at 22.30 to put on the AC that was supposed to run from 22-09, that was really annoying. Some staff members were very helpful and nice, but others were not.

The photos must be very old. They doesn't reflect the reality, there is by far not that funny atmosphere they want to convey. Big plus for the nice and helpfull staff!

A good option to rest and spend a weekend away. It is located close to restaurants, metro and local buses.

Location was OK, but there wasn't working AC in the 6bed dormitory room. Only a fan. But fan isn't the same as AC. Also this fan was working very loud, so it was hard to sleep at night. Hostel doesn't provide free towel and asked for 5 reals for it.
