My girlfriend and I stayed at Albergue for one night and had a great experience; the staff were incredibly helpful, particularly with advice on how to get around the city. The Hostel itself has great facilities, free internet, pool table etc and a good kitchen space. Strongly recommend this hostel for anyone coming to Salvador.

The bathroom smelled like raw sewage so I guess it depends on your aversion to smelling raw sewage.

Great to make friends!! It has a lot of places to interact with other people. It has 16 cameras that make the place safe. I didn't like the breakfast, it has some fruit, but thats basicly it. Anyway i recommend

Private rooms not great especially the one with no window as no fresh air gets in. Many of the staff don`t speak english, which not very helpful. Hostel seemed very quiet and mostly frequented by non-englsih speaking travellers, but that coulod have been the time of year.Owner Lia is very helpful and sweet and the hosel is a beautiful old colonial house. Ask to see room before you pay just incase you are not happy. Best time to go is carnival, since we came in late september and it was dead!   Read Owner Comments

Should take closer attention to cleanliness, specially the rooms. The mattress and the pillow gave me an allergy.
