The hostel staff were friendly and accommodating, there are a lot of maps, handbooks and tour options available in the hall, and the rooms were cleaned and looked Minus: the washing sinks are in the common halls near the showers and toilets, so little privacy

Good if you want somewhere inexpensive within easy reach by metro of the sights of Beijing. The room we stayed in was fine (although ended up walking through a curtain to get in at night) and the toilet and shower facilities served their purpose (would be good to have more than 2 wash sinks for the whole hostel). The staff are friendly, but not fantastic at English so be prepared for occasional confusion. The tour to the Great Wall we booked through the hostel was great with no problems.

Good location near Xisi métro station. Supermarket and restaurants nearby. No atmosphere in this hostel, common space is réception office

Great Location and very helpful staff. The Hostel is located very close to line 4 train station (literally 2 min walk and 1 street away), this is an interchange line with the fast train. I rang the Hostel on the night of my arrival and they spoke to the taxi driver for me. They also waited outside the alley way, so that I can be escorted to the Hostel. Don't bother with getting around on a bike (you can hire these from the hostel) you are much better off getting around via the subways.
